The forum staff have several light duties for starters they police their assigned forums for misplaced postings and spam. Misplaced postings get moved to the proper forums and spam gets sent to the Boneyard forum and the post itself flagged for an admin to purge the user.Global Moderators have the same duties of normal moderators with the exception of being able to ban users, edit user profiles for abuse complaints only, and are moderators of every forum.

The forum staff have several light duties for starters they police their assigned forums for misplaced postings and spam. Misplaced postings get moved to the proper forums and spam gets sent to the Boneyard forum and the post itself flagged for an admin to purge the user.Moderators are responsible for attempting to assist users at every avenue in their postings since most users come here asking for help for one thing or another it's basically just answering normal day to day questions. We also ask that moderators attempt to make new posts in their assigned sections as a way of sparking conversation.Moderators are to attempt to view the Site and Forum Rules as Guidelines they're not set in stone, but should be followed and action taken when abused.Whenever a member is contacted by a moderator as a representative of A Gardeners Forum the moderator must log the conversation in the staff forum this is so that the staff knows and understands what is going on and can assist when needed. All staff must understand that while they're working they are a representative of A Gardeners Forum and therefore must put all personal feelings towards other members aside or their actions may warrant a demotion.

Uploading to the ForumsForum members may upload photos to the Our Member's Galleries Photo Gallery Forum the forum software will convert and size your images automatically. You may post up to 10 images per Gallery Forum thread, and the maximum size of your uploaded images is 5MB.Due to images being removed after a posting is created and images embedded elsewhere on the site, members may edit Photo Gallery Forum postings for up to 24 hours.Once you have uploaded your images to the forum you will need to click on the small thumbnail of the image to open it, then right click on the larger image and select Copy Image Location and use the Embed Image button in your new posting to post the image on the site or forums. We do not allow images to be embedded off of our site if you upload a file to our site and attempt to embed it on other sites, your request will result in an error message appearing from our server.PhotobucketPreviously we've recommended users upload their images to PhotoBucket and link to the images on the forums which is still an acceptable means of sharing your images to the forums. If you choose to use PhotoBucket you can take the IMG code from the links section while viewing the photo at PhotoBucket and paste that into your forum posting and the forum will convert the image to display on our forums.

What is the "Poofing Procedure"?

The procedure for removing a user is as follows1. Is the user a spammer Did they join for the primary means of promoting products or services that are not welcome If so, report to Stop Forum Spam by editing their account and selecting More Info at the Spam Check box and then clicking the Report Spammer button.2. Has the user posted content that must be cleaned up If so, please move all disruptive content to the Workshop forum.3. Ban Times. If this is a first infraction for disobeying the site rules then a warning is generally in order. If this is continued abuse, or the user was abusing members then a ban time of forever should be set and the infraction reported to an administrator to deal with adjustments accordingly. Please make extensive use of the User Notes field in the user profile if you have to ever edit or ban, or report any user.

There are several ways of checking your EMail in this FAQ Entry we're going to cover checking it via an EMail Client. Our mail services go through Google Apps, simply put, it's GMail with our domain name. These instructions have been formatted for use in Thunderbird. There are several settings that your mail client will ask for, they are as followsUser Name This will be your username WITH the agardenersforum.com such as exampleagardenersforum.comPass Word The password you have set via the httpwww.AGardenersForum.commailConnection Security All connections must use SSL the TLSSSL required settingAccess via POP3Host Name pop.gmail.com or pop.googlemail.comPort 995Access via IMAPHost Name imap.gmail.com or imap.googlemail.comPort 993Send MailHost Name smtp.gmail.com or smtp.googlemail.comPort 465Please Note Before you can start accessing your account via IMAP you must first enable it in your account POP3 should automatically be enabled, but IMAP is the better option as it always keeps the mail on the server versus downloading it to your computer and purging it after it does so as with POP3.Enabling IMAP or POP3Login to your account at httpwww.AGardenersForum.commail.Click on the Cog to the right side of the page, it's below the text that shows your email address. From here, select Settings. Now that you're at the settings page, click on the Forwarding and POPIMAP tab.To enable POP3 simply choose Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on if you'd rather not download all previous messages that've arrived to your account. To enable IMAP simply click the Enable IMAP option, we recommend turning AutoExpunge on as well so that when you delete a message in your email client that it'll immediately be deleted on the server. We also recommend having the Do not limit the number of messages in an IMAP folder which is selected by default.
