Very pretty! It looks like the purple hyacinth bean that everyone talks about. I got some seeds in a seed swap last year and have yet to plant them. Yours looks extremely healthy and happy, I may try next year.

Yup, looks like a runner bean. Just not sure of the variety. I only grow 'scarlett's'.

that's the purple hyacinth bean vine. it also comes in a white-flowered variety and i think there's a pink-flowered one as well.

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Hi Betty...

wonder if this plant is from the seeds i sent u ...is it? Yup..it is Dolichos lab lab or Hyacinth Bean.... i used to add the young tender beans to stir-frys or curries... but havent done so for quite some time s d children dont eat 'em.... not encouraging when u r the only one who eats what u had cooked, huh...? so i stopped!
