The 1st Graders & The Gingerbread Man #158967 Dec 6th, 2007 at 02:14 PM Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 23,310 Maine Merme Grande Damme Merme Grande Damme Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 23,310 Maine Hi everyone ~ Maxi's little brother, DJ, is in 1st grade this year where they all heard the story of the Gingerbread man. Each child was also given the oppotunity to bake his very own Gignerbread man. While the men were left cooling on the baking racks in the cafeteria, the children returned to their classrooms. Suddenly, the cafeteria ladies came running in! The Gingerbread Men were ALL GONE! And... the children came to see... the crumbs on the cooling tables, the crumbs on the floor... the crumbs outside by the Pet Tree Steve, along with a note "catch me if you can!" So now the first grade children of the school are asking everyone far and wide to please keep your eyes open for those unruly gingerbread men! And if you happen to spot one in your area, please do send the class a note saying where and when you saw him and what he was doing! I've been told the children have a few weeks of exciting games and celebrations concering this unfolding story. The kids are really loving having the teacher read all the cards and looking at the photos and drawings that have been sent. They will wrap up the event on 12/21. Thanks, everybody.
