I was reading on the front of the Epsom Salt bag and it advertises "*Plant Food Supplement". So I turn the bag to its back and read that for houseplants - mix one teaspoon per gallon of water and feed to plants every one to four weeks.

Has anyone every used Epsom Salt before as a fertilizer?

Yes, epsom salts can be good for your plants. But don't use it as the only food. It doesn't offer everything that plants need, just some of it.

OK. I usually use miracle gro but i guess i can use this too in between times?

I use it on my green pepper plants.

I would use half of what the bag says at first, and as Tina mentioned, not just the only fertilizer. Epsom salt will change the soil ph over time (I can't remember if it's more acidic or more alkaline). I know some people use it to fertilizer their roses, and some use it to fertilize their azelas. Also on hydrangeas, applied over a time they might change colour (from blue to pink, or the otherway around)

I used epsom salts in the garden this year especially on the tomatoes. I sprinkled some around each plant once a month and had my best tomato crop ever. I plan to do the same next year as well.This web site explains its use in the garden.

It is really soothing to soak your feet with some epsom salt in the water, or a soak ina a empsom salt bath, it's supposed to draw out toxins

Correct.....We use it mostly for swollen sprains ..Hot water and epson salts, to draw out the poisons ????/they say..

When my gardenias look a little yellow or the azaleas like sick I throw a little out. It works.

I use it in my beer fertilizer on my epis. I add it to my fertilizer when watering the brugs/roses. It has trace minerals and magnesuim.when my brug leaves get yellow which is more common on my frosty pink.so that one gets it ALL the time and they seem to look greener. I also use it as an air freshner with essential oils. I'll pour me about half in frosting container and add the essential oil put lid on and shake. I'll pour some in cloth baggie to put in car,or set some out in maller cup like lid from ice cream from McDs. I use 1 cup in my hose end feeder and feed for 15 minutes.

Beer fertilizer

12 oz beer
1 c epson salts
1/2 c amonia
2 c water
1/2 cup molasses
3 TBS fertilizer

mix in gallon jug.When go to use take 1 TBS and put in 1 gallon of water.right now....1 gallon serves my epis for one watering,but they are increaseing.This year I used only the beer fertilizer on my epis....and they've got loads of blooms.
