We had a bit of an accident this past week with our dog. It was icy and terrible windy when he ran to meet my husband as he came home with the car and couldn't stop and slid right under the wheels. We took him in and had to put a splint on his front leg. He had a dislocated bone. The poor thing was in pain for 2 days, talk about baby sitting a dog, I could have cried with him.
He's getting better but still in a splint for a week and we will need to tie him up for another week to keep him off the leg. It's hard on him since he's such an active dog.
Can't tell you how glad we were that it wasn't worse, I think our whole family would have cried if we had lost this dog.

They gave him a shot right away when they put a splint on him. He's OK now, but he sure does not want to do much, thinks he can run when we take him off his leash then sits down within a few feet. Guess it's still pretty sore.
Thanks for the ideas on how to give aspirins, I didn't realize the Tylenol is quite dangerous for a dog.
