Well, after 5 horrible months of vicious teething, Maddie finally got her first tooth yesterday morning. It isn't even above the gum line, but it has broken through and I can feel it....that thing is SHARP!!!! She was just awful yesterday morning. I'm a Spongebob fan and call her a "crabby patty" when she is grouchy. Anyways, she was just a beast yesterday morning. We just figured she was tired since she hasn't really been sleeping that well these last 2 weeks. She had all but abandoned her nice 3 hour afternoon nap. Anyways, we got to church and I gave her to the nursery as soon as we got there. I didn't want to risk the nursery getting full if I kept her with me during the singing. Well, when I was putting her into her carseat after church she was chewing on her bunny and I had to pull it out of her mouth to get her arm in the one strap and caught a glimpse of something in her mouth. I flipped down her bottom lip and sure enough, there was a tooth! She isn't letting me look in her mouth, so every once in a while I cop a quick feel of her gums. While I was feeding her lunch I was able to look at her bottom gum and it looks like all of the front bottom teeth are right under the gums, so I'm assuming that it won't be long at all for those to pop through. And get this....yesterday and today Maddie's 3 hour afternoon nap is back! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! So, that is our news....yay for Maddie!

Another first for Maddie. Hoping she feels better real soon, teething is just awful for baby and mom.

I see your coming along, wow. Only 29 days.....

I know that must be a big relief for both of you- teething is hard for some kids and others you never know till you see the new little sharp white thing in their mouth... maybe now the rest will make it thru with less trouble for her... you are really close with number 2 - less than a month- life will be a lot busier soon for you.

you know that first tooth has to just drive them crazy. My oldest cut 4 at one time, makes for nice straight teeth. and one fussy kid

Congrats Maddie! Hopefully she will have a good, easy time with it all, she's really growing up now isn't she?

I know Athena was always crying and fevery and sniffley when she was teething....it was so hard on her.....
