An important part of any photography is the processing AFTER you take the picture. This is ESPCIALLY important for bird and plant photogoraphy to get the best possible results. Many programs are available for this purpose that you install on your computer. These can range in price from THOUSANDS of dollars to FREE!!! I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. These are probably the two BEST programs available. BUT Google has a program, "Picasa 2", that is totally free and installs on your computer in a COUPLE OF MINUTES. Picasa 2 searches your computer and stores EVERY image stored in it in a special file that you can then view and edit changing and tweaking dozens of things about each photo to make it sharp, clear, with VIBRANT color, and the BEST POSSIBLE light levels for each picture. You can then post these picture to the internet......Picasa 2......at Google.....GO THERE NOW!!!

irvanview is very easy to use. gimp is also a good program - a bit more difficult to get the hang of, though. both are free.
