I have a large jade plant that is puting out thread like roots high on its trunk and branches. This just started a few days ago. what is it and what if anything should I do about it? Please help I don't want to lose my plant.

those are air roots. they won't hurt your plant. they are a sign of a mature plant and many varieties of plants use those to balance themselves.
