I had wanted a dwarf apple tree for our small yard and finally purchased one (for the fruit and gorgeous flowers). On the tag it had said "dwarf jonathan apple", it's about 7-8 feet tall and already is growing a few very small apples on it. But, after looking around the internet, it says apples need 2 trees to yield apples, if you have only 1 it wont get fruit. We cant fit 2 trees on our property, and now were stuck with the tree.

I dont know too much about apples, but is there any chance it will yield apples each year without a 2nd tree? I think it has fruit now because there were other apples trees at the nursery and flowering season ended already which could be why it has fruit.

The apples arent solid red, they look half green/red but more red, then again if what I read was correct, in cooler climates they are red/green. I live in New York.
