Diane - I hope you have a restful, peaceful day today!

I am going to have to go to the grocery store. I so did not want to go anywhere today, but the cupboards and fridge are bare! Such is life...

Diane - I hope you get to fix that fence. I'm sure the boys would love to help you set up another Willy Village, no matter what size it is, and we really look forward to more adventures with the characters that are still with you!

Yes, I agree with Lynne here---I have all of the Willy Village adventures printed out you know---so I can read them to my future grandchildren---Now just to get the grandchildren.

Very quiet day here---Rod is out at my dad's timber, relaxing some, while Christopher is still out going to various places in his Post's area preforming Memorial Day services. when the 2 men get back we will BBQ for supper here---Brats, chicken, deviled eggs, salad & some kind of potato. And I just pulled triple chocolate brownies out of the oven.

Lynne, pick up some groceries for me will ya???---I am sorry you have to go out today---I hope most people are not in the grocery stores & you have an easy time of it.

Has anyone heard from Cindy--I wonder how she is doing???

Going to read now--

I've talked with the landlord about the fence they are slow moving to get things done unless it's something INSIDE the house then they jump on it because They know by law since I have the kids thru CPS they Cannot delay getting elec. plumming, and secured doors/windows attended too. The fence I believe is at the bottom of priority rolz.
Deviled Eggs,, I forgot about making them,, sounds good Carol! AND the triple choc brownies YUMM YUMMMMMM!
I haven't seen Cindy here or on FB,, I hope she is okay!

Diane - could the fence be a "top" priority since you said that the neighbor dogs have been getting in your yard underneath it?

I made the mistake of going into WalMart before I went into the grocery store - our Walmart does not sell groceries. WHAT A ZOO Walmart was - worse than ever! Of course I only had 3 small items to get - what a MISTAKE!!! rspb

Grocery store was pretty crowded too, and of course did not have a great selection, since the trucks don't come until Tuesdays, and usually on Sunday the shelves are empty. We needed milk and a few other staples so I had to go today. rolz badday

Our walmarts and grocery stores are always busy here and they never ever have enough check out lines open~ with lines now the aisles and blocking the main walk ways,, crazy!
I just emailed the property owners and asked them to come out and look at the fences they are rotting at the bottom and the dogs next door have chewed off some of the rotted wood and come into our yard continuously, therefore I cannot allow my 3 grandsons to go out side in the side and back yard, nor can I allow my dog to go out and relieve herself without me walking her or putting a leash on her in our own yard.
Please do everything in your effects to repair/replace the fences asap, ,,, Hope they get out here or I'll tell my CPS worker the children's play area is being jeopardized due to all the above notme

Just checking in...I'm yucky sick...been in the chair all day except to check the forum a few times and feed that mammoth cat of mine. I got him neutered Friday...probably just in the nick of time...10 months old.

Gonna go try to find something to eat that I can handle...I'll be back and try to catch up.

Sorry you are still not feeling well, Cindy. I hope you were able to find something to stay down.

Diane - that is a great move - if you have to use CPS to get the landlord to fix the fence, do it! The boys and Emmy should be able to enjoy your yard, as should you!

Good to see you Cindy,, Sorry you don't feel good,, kissie Hopefully tomorrow you'll feel much better thumbup

@ Lynne Yep! I will utilize them if necessary I don't want to have to tho,, you know what I mean?? I would think it would be the responsible thing to do( fix/replace the fence) without me having to go a different avenue to get it done.

These next few days are snow make up days,, other wise they would have been out Last Friday when Tre's School dance was. This is the first year in DFW history that school was out entire week because of ice and snow. That likely won't happen again. But who knows the weather has been so crazy the past few years everywhere.

We have had the coldest May on record. And close to the wettest too. I am still trying not to complain much. I want to save up my complaint times for the summer heat.
Good night and sweet dreams, Carol.

It's a GORGEOUS day here so far - temps to go to 83 - I can live with that!

OH - last night I had a long dream that Michelle Obama was coming to visit my house!!! What's up with that?!? Of course I awakened before she got here - too bad.

What a marvelous dream you had, Lynne!

It finally cooled off here --- we had a couple of very hot days w/ high humidity. Tonight it is lovely.

The lilacs bloomed this week so Maxi was delighted to be allowed to go outside barefoot.

Life is good when the lilacs bloom.

I haven't smelled lilacs in for ever,, I've seen them around here tho.
The Foster care representative finally made her way over here. Got a 'Pass' on the addresses I've lived in the last 30 som'em years, Whewwwwwww, that's a relief! I only had to go back 10 years.
I have completed 80% of the app, but still need to get Vet statements for emmy, Dr. statement saying I'm healthy enough to take care of the boys, FBI fingerprint and background check, buy 2 more smoke alarms and all trashcans must have lids, as well as two lock boxes for meds, one for fridge and one for pills.
Classes start June 25 after that I will be certified hopefully Keep prayers going I will achieve this for the boys and for me. God placed them with me for a reason, I'm sure not to strain but to be blessed angel

For sure, Diane - you will raise some very successful boys with great manners and skills.

I am glad the representative was satisfied with the past 10 years of addresses, and I'm sure you will pass the rest with flying colors.

I'm sitting here knitting tonight - too hot to do anything else. We still haven't turned on the AC - too early in the season for us.

My regular lilacs finished blooming a few weeks ago, but my french lilacs are still in bloom now and smell heavenly!

Have I mentioned that the boys are lucky to have you for their grandmother??/ 'Cause they sure are..What all you are doing for them will teach them volumns alone---never mind all the other things you are teaching them thumbup

WEll no pictures of the ones that are finished, but I could take some tomorrow of the french ones. They are a pale pink, and smell so wonderful. My nice neighbor comes over every year and thanks me for planting them on his side of our property - everyone in his family enjoys it, he says every year. Including his 2 daughters who no longer live with them!

By the way... I had to cut the regular ones waaaaay back this year - the previous owners planted the bush in the wrong spot and it reaches outward towards the sun, plus it got very leggy. I cut it about 1/2 way down, and hope it will fill in this summer, for more blooms next spring.

Well fiorst let me sday ANY picture of ANY lilsac would be welcomed....\\

second, thanks for saying that you cut back the lilac---mine is in a large pot, as I grew it from a smal start that I brought from "the farm" It is from a lilac bush that Valarie bought while in College. See she bought a white lilac bush in a Walmart in nebraska when she was in college--as she was homesick-----she kept it in pots until it was so large that she had to bring it home & plant it----so when we left I potted up a start of it and babied it along---& so here we are, 6 years later--it is like 4-5 feet high---but I did not get it out soon enough this year due to the weather (it winters in the garage) & I think the top half has died---bottom half looks very very healthy---I am thinking I will give it another week or so & then prune the top back--- why

Esp now that you have said yoiu pruned yours??

again thanks so much

'morning all

Another morning that I was outside at the crack of dawn taking pictures. BOY was it ever hazy out there. HOT HOT HOT already, but severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, and then hopefully a bit of cooling off.

I get to go to the beach on Friday with Lisa in Connecticut! Yea Lisa!!!

Carol - I don't know if what I did will work on my lilac, so please don't use me as a guide for that. I'd hate for something to happen to your precious bush!

Posting pics of my french lilac in the flowers forumd now.

Outside early is a good thing--I was out at 6 am yesterday & it was wonderful working weather----I should really get into that habit-- Today I was out at 8:30 & it was already too hot to do much.

so glad that you got out early---that is certainly better than in the heat of the day---

Lynne: Thanks for the warning but really I think the top is dead so I can't lose anything by cutting it down---BUT as I said, I will wait a week, as the bottom half is flourishing. As you say, it is precious to me.

Waiting now to hear from my MIL's Dr--it seems she is having muscle aches which is likley form some temperary medication she is on---but at her age it does not hurt to check on it

Going to look at Lynne's p ictures & then to have a cup (or 2) of coffee) wavy.

Good morning, all! wavy

Very busy day here but I had a sec to drop in for hello's all 'round.

Our stormy weather has started already, Lynne, & drove the humidity away. The t-storms are supposed to be gone by this evening.

Gotta get ready for dialysis so I'll see you all later!

Good everyone! I've been trying to get over a cold since the weekend. I feel fine but this cough is lingering and now my sinuses are involved. Oh well, I can't complain. It's not a bad cold and I haven't had a full blown cold in a couple years. I did get Joey sick but he just has a cough and a little sinus trouble but otherwise feels fine as well. Today is National Running Day. After I let my dinner settle a bit I may go out for a couple miles and do an evening run. Other than that, we are doing well. DH's business is starting to pick up a bit, which is great. The kids only have two more weeks of school and they're looking forward to the break. I'm thinking of going crazy and doing 7 half marathon's in 7 months.

Wow a half marathon.....Congrats, Cheryl----I know I could not do it----Kudos to you !!!

Sorry for the cold & the lingering cough---people around here that has that lingering cough thing had iot linger for around a month--I hope yours does not hang on that long..

Summer break---I loved that--life just kinda slows down, & I was just as happy for the school year to be over as my girls were---and as sad to see it start back---
Savor the time they are home--they grow up way too fast.

I wish I was going to the beach. Not quite warm enough here though. I've got a busy day planned. Drop off the kids, go for a run, get my allergy shots, have lunch with my mom, go grocery shopping, and hopefully start some laundry. Have a great day everyone!

That is a busy day, Cheryl. It is too cold to contemplate the beach here also. I have had a lazy morning so far. Just dishes and made batter for baking a spree this weekend. A couple of phone calls. Picking up around the house and laundry is swishing in there.
