I had ordered a plumeria start on line when I got it, it was black and soft rotted madd I DID get my money back. I was so disappointed. I didn't want seeds I wanted a plant already to go. I looked and looked in my area to no avail. boohoo

welll I got lucky,, the same place I got my texas star hibiscus and koppel king dinner plate hibiscus, also had the plumeria in stock clap n crazy that all three would be found in the same place at a Farmers Market no kidding! shock and less than a mile from my house! They have no idea what color it will be, so we will have to wait and see, might be a year or a couple of years, don't really know, but I'm glad I have one now!

From what I have read it's care is similar to the desert roses I have, so I'm hoping if I follow the same principles I will have success thumbup

I really REALLY wanted one that cost $75 the problem would have been where to put it for the winter boohoo But he told me he would sell me a shorter one for 20$ and another one that was is about 4'tall for 35$ and he is going to give me dbl purple, dble yellow datura seeds as soon as they are ready. also one of the plants already had a datura growing in it as a bonus, so I really got a good deal by him because both of them are already Blooming! I so wish Lynne lived near to me, she would have LOVED being there with me boohoo

Diane - that flower is soooooo pretty! What does it smell like - they all talk about the scents in the group.

I, too, wish I was there with you - we would have had a blast!!!

it has a very slight scent sweet,, just slightly tho as do the white and yellow ones. OMG Lynne you and I could have gotten some good deals from that guy. He seemed to like it once you sound like you know what you're talking about and how to do things. He obviously is one that appreciates fellow gardeners and not just out to make a buck.

Lynne you would have loved it. He had so many plants you had to walk sideways a lot just to get through them. He also gives a sheet with all directions on how to care for them. All the does and don't. You and Diane would have talked his ears off I'm sure. haha

this one bloomed in a lighter color, had to do with more humidity and sun light,, I moved it when we got 3 days of rain off and on, it was soaked and I was afraid it would get root rot as they do easily. According to the Plumeria group on FB, it was due to less light and higher humidity, Learning a lot about these plumeria's grin This one actually smells like a sweet cotton candy

[Linked Image]

these two off the same inflow again different blooms color opposite primary yellow and white due to higher humidity and sun, while blooming,

[Linked Image]

I also found out because these are noids, ( NO I.D.) because I have no history of them, their parent plants and wasn't unregistered with the Plumeria Society, and don't know if they came from a cutting or seedling, I can name them my self clap
BUT I cannot register them as there is NO history attached with them.
I want to name one of them after my mom, well at last part of her name incorporated in it. Her name is Florence, so something with FLO- something.
I'm open for suggestion, don't know which plant yet the yellow or pink one, for my mom.

I would think the Plumeria group would enjoy helping you name them-- why--and they might come up with some interesting names--and more appropriate ones than we would ???
Well, except, Lynne might come up with a good name or 2 ??? But I dont think I could--

although why not use your mom's full name & just add 1 or 2 other names with it. why
