A new CH all fresh and clean.
Good morning. This is Ted's last day of summer session for the year. We will have a good day. Then he has all of July off.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning (barely)
I was having trouble with my internet connection. But it is all better now.
At some point today, I need to call my provider & see about increasing my internet speed. Supposedly it will be free.

I went to pick berries...and there were none. With the cold rainy weather, they failed to develop. I only found 2 cups worth. boohoo

Good afternoon. It's raining! It won't stick around long and it won't add much to the water table. But every drop is a blessing. And it's bringing down the temps a little.

Hi all,

We had a wonderful few days in Estes, love the B&B we go to... was really relaxing and quiet.... we got in early and the owners gave us a tour of the other rooms that were empty- it's a 1920 era motel and the rooms have been remodeled and decks added to the back with hot tubs, there are cabins too and we always stay in our favorite one- it's very private and right on the river, we got to see and Elk this time - came down the river and paused right in front of us .. we were eating our breakfast early Sat morning... there were beaver too.. but the owners were trying to get rid of them as they were trying to build a dam and that wouldn't do the property much good...

Our vaca in Az was nice too- way to hot for me but the boys did well .. Nicoli never got sick at all- and heat is a trigger for him--- with the cooling towels and fans with spray and pools everywhere we stayed we kept him cool as we could...

Joe is making our dinner burgers on the grill tonit... was 98 today... way to hot but has cooled off tonit...
we did go out earlier in the day and find a new bed for out guest room.. queen size.. the old one was about 25 yrs old and the wooden part of the foundation was broken... boys jumped on the bed a few years ago... and broke it... so was just time... next thing I will be looking for is a new couch for my living room , it's time for the one we have to go away too... saw one today I really liked.... may just go order it tomorrow or Thurs...we will have boys tomorrow...
of course it will be 8 weeks to get it in the fabric I want..

Carol I am so happy you are doing so well... hope you got your pedi ... I enjoy getting them and it's been a long time... may just have to have a girls days with my daughters one of these days..

Well off to get the rest of dinner ready- it's finally cool enough to eat... Have a good evening all!

Nana

Sounds like you had several lovely vacations, Nana. Thanks for sharing them. I so enjoy hearing about them.
Yes I enjoyed getting my Pedi, nana. I really need to get them as bending to do my own feet is quite the problem any more.
The pampering was really quite nice.
I highly recommend it.

\Going to bed soon. G'nite.

Good morning...I hope Tina is enjoying her rain and that it stays for a bit.

Nana, it sounds like your Summer is off to a great start.

Jelly toast is what I'm having as well Junie, I am glad you got a better rest last night.

Not much planned for today...rain again. All the Canada Day celebrations have been called off because of the risk of thunderstorms.

I might break out the sewing machine and use up the last of my material I have here.

Good Morning, Sunny. Sorry that your celebrations have been cancelled.

It is overcast here. The weather forecast bad rains today. But so far nothing. I hope it remains that way.

Thanks for mentioning sewing, Sunny. I think I will begin to finish the border embroidering that is the last of Henry's quilt. Then I guess I will wash the backing & then take the 2 pieces to a store in the next town that does piece work & have them attach the front to the back for me. I will not be going downstairs for some time.

Good morning. I was up in the night and then slept in also. It was good.
The rains we had lasted about an hour and dried up within two hours.
I'm going to do some banking today. And shopping and getting my car into the shop. I hope everyone has a good day.

sorry the rain was short lived, Tina, but hey, at least it was there for a bit.

Glad that your sleep worked out in the end.

I may try to go out today to get the mail--we shall see.

Hope you can make it out to your mailbox, Carol. And back.
I ran out and did an abbreviated day but got the main things done. That's good enough for now. It looks like more rain is possible today. That's good too. Now too get some housework done.

I made it out quite easily. thanks, Tina. I put out the walker, then down the stairs & off to the mailbox I went.
Easy Peasy.

Rod thinks we are going to church tonight. We shall see.
I will NOT be taking a walker into church.
I do not want to give people something to talk about.

It is too bad that people in a church find something to talk about.

NP, Tina.

We went tonight & I took my cane. I did ok for the most part.
Really not that many people in church so it went well.
I think we may just do mid-week services for a few weeks.

Good morning. This afternoon Teddy is going out with his sisters. So my morning will be spent giving him a bath and getting ready. While he's gone I may just nap. Or mop. Or something. I'll figure it out.
Today is going to be hot and muggy again but it is supposed to dry up and just be hot afterwards. I like hot and dry over hot and humid if it is not going to rain.

Good morning.

Enjoy your 'me' time Tina...that is certainly hard to come by.

I am glad you got out yesterday Junie.

It is damp and rainy this a.m. so I decided to make bread and I have a pie in the oven at the moment. I guess I'll just clean inside today...I learned that you cannot sew with a 4 yr old who thinks she can do it for you lol

That is so nice of your daughters, Tina. I agree enjoy your time alone. I vote the chores can wait.

Sunny...more rain ??? I am so sorry. BUT pie and bread is a wonderful thing. I can just imagine how your house must smell now--mmmmmmmmmmm.

SMH....So sorry about your GG. But hey, at least you are teaching her some good things.

We're having a gigantic dead tree cut down today. I think the crew lied because I have yet to see a bucket truck, which Johnny specifically asked about, or a dump truck to haul everything off. When I asked the main guy said the trucks are "running late." Well it's noon and no truck and if they think they're leaving a mess out there and get paid for it they are wrong.

P.S. Sunny, I have a 7 year old who thinks she can do everything which means I can't do anything with her around unless I want to constantly tell her to stop it. I'm happy that she's confident and wants to help but after a while it becomes aggravating.

First rattlesnake of the season is gone. It was resting in the shade right outside my back door. Hopefully that's the only one we run into.

oh MY !!! I am sure glad that you saw the Rattlesnake first, Tina. I too hope that was the only one.

My Mom was supposed to come today with chicken & noodles for supper. You know, because she did not come with it the day before. Now There is nothing for supper. I get that she was either busy or not feeling well, but a phone call would have been helpful. But then my mom has been like this her whole life...

Oh, I am sorry, Carol. That sucks. Are you going to have to go out to eat?
I didn't see the snake first. My older son did. I saw him grab the snare I keep right outside each door and went to go see what it was about. I got there in time to see him grab it and help dispatch it.

Good morning. Happy Friday. I don't have any particular plans today. I may cook a little. My kids are going out to lunch, I think. At least that was the plan as of yesterday. Everything is subject to change. Depending on temps and such.
Do you have any Fourth of July plans?

Good Morning !..
4th of July plans...none that I know of.
I would like it if my youngest DD would call us, but we shall see.

Rod has today off in place of tomorrow as the 4th falls on a Saturday this year.

Putting cinnamon rolls in the oven in a few.

Oh, cinnamon rolls sound cool. However, the oven does not. I think I'll pass for comfort.
One bathroom all cleaned. Dishes that magically appear overnight are done. Laundry going.

Good afternoon.

Bestofour I do hope the mess was cleaned up, I agree with wanting the full job finished before pay is given.

Tina, I can't imagine having to deal with rattlesnakes...each area has it's share of things to deal with doesn't it.

It's good to hear that Junie got her food...hoping that you are resting as well.

It is raining again...mind you they are calling for a heatwave next week...feast or famine I guess lol

I am heading out in a few, we have no fruit left in the house. Hoping the local store has some good deals.

I wish I could easily share fruit and vegetables with you, Sunny. How was your Canada day?

I wish you could share with me also Tina. I bought a bag of apples, a small container of strawberries, a bunch of bananas and a few plums and that cost over $20....and that was on sale.

We didn't do anything for Canada day...it rained and they ended up having the activities after announcing it was called off. No one showed up apparently....why cancel then have it??

Hoping your 4th of July plans go better.
