last time I started three seeds, all came up, and because I didn't have enough light to give to them, they all turned pale and white and died, so I think light is essentia! I never knew the yellow cannas set seed, I thought they were sterile hybrids

I'm thinking I should put them in bigger cup - with pot mix? The roots are starting to come out the sides of the peatpot.

Patty, I over watered too soon. A spray type watering is sufficient until they are showing a couple of genuine leaves. I damped mine off quicker than a Staffordshire Bull Terrier chews a mobile phone. (That is a totally different story - see 'Critters').

I also started (tried) some canna seeds. Should they have been scraped or soaked first? They didn't do anything. Tho I didn't put tem under lights. I had them in the tray with bottom heat. Maybe I'll try lights.

I soaked my seeds overnight - that's what the parkseed packet said to do and they came right up! I think my 'favorite book' says to nick them, but I didn't. I'll have to take another picture - they look great!
