I bought some primroses about a month ago. They really did well until recently and now they are looking a bit sad. Duh I have been in Illinois for a few weeks, getting everything packed to move to Florida so my daughter is keeping me informed. Now it has been quite warm there on some days and I know primroses are cool weather plants. It also rained a ton for a few days. I advised her to move them out of the sun because thought maybe they were wilted because of too much sun. What is the proper way to care for primroses in Florida? The water requirements, do they want most shade but dappled sun? I know they do not like HOT but of course it is going to be hot in Florida so where should I plant them in the ground for their benefit? Thanks for all the info you can give me on Primroses. And why are they still wilted? kmSedna1333 angell

Were they blooming? If so, try cutting off the blooms so the plants can put all their energy into restoring the main plant. I agree with you on moving them out of the sun. Maybe you could put them in a spot where they just get morning sun after they recover.

Yes they were blooming beautifully! I will do as you say when I get back there in a few days. But am wondering if anyone knows the secrets to keeping them in good shape. kmSedna1333
