Oh, Penny...it might be the same one I have. If it is, you can throw it off a very high deck (twice!) and not break it! grinnnn
If I threw my dyson off the deck I'm sure it would break into a million pieces.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 15th, 2006 at 06:45 AM
My moms Hoover that is only a few years old starting falling apart really bad....bits and pieces started breaking....and NO she didn't throw it from anywhere....... laugh

I have a Hoover that has a bag right now. My old bagless Eureka ended up dying on me, so this is a replacement.....When you have 3 levels to vac you need at least 2 vacs to do it with.
Posted By: penny in ontario Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 15th, 2006 at 06:47 AM
I just got this one about 2 months ago, i had a dirt devil with the bag, and it started to smoke one day, so i thought i had better get rid of it!!

Posted By: afgreyparrot Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 15th, 2006 at 07:09 AM
I just realized (because I just got the vacuum cleaner out to vacuum up Lola's mess) that the vacuum I have been throwing off the deck is a Bissell.
...actually I did break one thing on it so far...the little catch that holds it upright...you know, that thing you push down with your foot when you start to use it.

Thankyou so much Servantheart and Bestofour. I love my package.

It must have come in yesterday. But with the temperatures in the high 90's I don't leave my apartment by noon when the postman comes.

I tried to take pictures but without a flash I couldn't get anything. So here is a list of my goodies.

First of all was the homemade card and I just love it.

It a reproduction of an Orange crate label called Homer Brand and it has a homming pigeon in full flight on the front. I'm going to keep it forever. The colors are so sharp and clear.

Then I received a baby pregnant onion. I really love the onion family and immediately potted this up. I used some of the orchid bark and stones to add drainage to the pot. I'm so excited about this plant. Thankyou so very very much.

Then there are a bunch of really cool seeds. I can't wait to look them all up.

They are:

Sunflower 'sunrise sunset mix'
Columbine 'Purple Granny' (I love columbine)
Laurentia axillaris, blue 'shooting stars' (I bet this is super pretty)
Obedient Plant (I've heard about these but I've never had one. I'm looking forward to it.)
Malva 'zebrina' (Thankyou for sending me these. I'm having a really difficult time harvesting mine.)
Amaryllis seeds (these look way cool)
Tanerfle (I may have misspelled this, my eyesight isn't as good as it once was)
Bush Basil ( I do love the basils. That what originially brought me to the forum. I was looking for information on my sweet basil.)
Cirtoria 'white pea vine' (I can't wait to see about this one. I had rather poor luck with my vines this year, but I just know I'll do better next year.)
Lychnis Flos-jovis 'campion/catchfly'
Mandrumlia lava (these are interesting looking seeds. I can't wait to find out more about them.)
Kalidascope 4 o'clocks
Blue Bonnets, pink
s. compacta 'Tapestry'
Chinese Lanterns (Thankyou for sending these. I only have one green pod so far and I've got my fingers crossed that it produces mature seeds.)
Stawberry Popcorn (This just sounds so fun. I can't wait to try it.)

So thankyou again you two for the suprise package. I really love all the goodies. Of course I now am having a sever attack of planting fever. I wonder how many things I'll have to plant before I can calm down lol.

You all may not see me until Monday lol.
Posted By: Bestofour Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 16th, 2006 at 01:20 AM
We wanted you to get a surprise too! Although "too" isn't the appropriate word right now because my head is about to explode from the suspense of waiting for my surprise. wink

It's a Dahlia rhyzome. I can't wait until this evening to plant it. I think these are the most gorgeous flowers and I love the idea that I'm going to have one of my vary own. Thank both of you very very much.

I am going to try my best to post some pictures of everything, but we're leaving soon to take a buddy of ours out to dinner. He leaves tomorrow to go back to Ft. Hood, TX and we won't see him for 15 months because he's being sent to Iraq. But, I will try my best to get some pics up.

They sent it priority and my PO called me to tell me I could come and get it this morning even though they do not usually open the window on Saturday. Pretty nice of them, I thought.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 16th, 2006 at 11:25 AM
That's good, I told them that you'd never ordered from them before and it was a gift...and told them I'm sure it didn't leave a good impression of them for your first time receiving things from them. wink They responded in a hurry to that. But I did tell them that I'd never had a problem with them myself and I've always had good quality stuff, just that I was disappointed in them this time. That was nice of your PO to do that. thumbup
Posted By: Triss Re: Garden Exchange 10 - July 16th, 2006 at 12:45 PM
Well I will be ordering from them in the future and will make sure I let them know that it was their fast service in replacing the item that helped me make that decision. I was very impressed with how fast it got here.
