Have you ever tried to get a bird to sit still long enough for you to go in the house, grab your camera and snap a couple photos? This little Wren was very cooperative!

I just asked her, and she hopped onto my hand.... (really!)

She sat in my hand for almost a half hour and we walked around the gardens, then she sat in the Honeysuckle talking to me (as I worked) for quite a while afterward....

I guess she just liked me!

I guess so!!!

That's awesome,
I've never had a bird that close to me...

And she's so cute.

Weezie

Maybe she liked your cologne??? wink

But I wasn't wearing cologne... must just be my natural sweetness... eh? shocked

I once rescued an injured Bald Eagle and held him for 2 hours, while we waited for the bird people to come and pick him up! That was an awesome feeling! grinnnn

That's gotta be it!!!!

A bald eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The closest I ever got with a NEAT FEELING
with birds was in the spring, the last 3,
we've had it's either, Turkey Vultures that
nest in my mothers really tall pinetrees in
the backyard. And when they leave, they all
go at once and come back to nest at once.
And they circle for a while before nesting.
And from the ground they honestly look like
there's a dead body in back yard, because they circle and swoop and circle and swoop.
(It really gave me a good scare the very first time I saw them, I am not lying, there were about 30 of them... This last spring we had 13)
I made sure I had the wee~one right next to me..

And they are so graceful, and there's every size you could imagine, like the big daddy's and the little ones just learning to fly..They aren't as graceful as the big birds, and their landings are in need of more refinement. But it is so cool.

I enjoy them here, no rodents either..

I hope they return every year!!

The closest I get to a bird is when I feel the splat on my shoulder or head! frown LOL

Was watering here recently and put the head on shower and a little hummingbird came down and sat on a stem of jasmine by my feet and let the water spray all over him while he cleaned himself. Sat there for about 5 min. and then left. Funny part is he came back again two more times. I was afraid to move so the area flooded but I didn't want to scare him away!!!

Rescued a great horned owl once that had apparently collided either with a car windshield or sliding glass window. He was in shock sitting on a limb of a Calif. oak. Grabbed a blanket and rescued before a cat or wild animal had the chance to make a meal for themselves. Boy my adrenaline was flowing at that point! Found out later what a stupid thing that was to even approach him. They have LONG claws and a sharp beak!!!!! Heard the horror stories of people trying to rescue them from the rescue center I took him to. They had to put him down because it was too bad but ooohhhh he was amazing. thumbup

The first two were funny!! laugh laugh
I would have done the same thing for the hummingbird!

That last one was sad!! eek
Always hate to hear stories like that one. ters
It is so sad when we come through with cars and
hit animals...
