Juniegirl, Well, I just planted in mud. We got about 2 inches of rain last night and it POURED all morning. Then, just at the time of my daughter's birthday party, it cleared up and warmed up. After the party, I snuck out and planted some of my leggier tomatoes. They have soda bottle top on them to help fight wind, rain, and chills. Although it hasn't been lower than mid-40's since the very beginning of March. I hope they will be okay, because they just weren't getting enough sunlight inside.

Does your dad have a heater?

And just remember it is only the end of March..
So don't get discouraged already okay!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well this year I'm growing Sweet William Tomatoes. I think they are one of the sweeter varieties. At least I think they are suppose to be. I've never grown them before. The 4 I started for myself are already 2 feet tall. Transplanting them is going to be a pain by the time it warms up enough to do it. I haven't had any rain to speak of and the back garden has to be hand watered. The ones I just started for a friend already have their true leaves.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they taste.

Tammy,
Do you know what we used to do up on the hill
for water?
*We didn't have a hose either*
but we got long tall bins and let rain fall into
them and we watered by hand from the bins..

*just an idea.. but can you leave some tubs or
something of the like around some of the area's you would water?

Or would someone steal it?????*

Started my seeds last Thursday so the obsession over germination rates has now begun. God willing, the weather will improve and I'll be able to plant them in the ground before the end of May. My earlies should give me ripe tomatoes by the beginning of August. If we don't get a freak snow storm in October like we did last year, I'll still be harvesting until just after Halloween. Weezie, I've started 80 varieties, you should really find a reason to come visit and grab a few plants in May. I most definitely WILL have extras.

Cheers,
Julianna

You know, someday, that would be a fun day to that...
I KNOW IT WOULD!!!

But right now, my plate is sooooooooooo filled
*and it ain't with tomatoes right now* that I am
almost thinkin' of not doing a garden this year..
***ALMOST mind you, I know that when the spring
days actually get here, I"ll be out there doing something..***
but it's never ending right now...

I always get warm fuzzy's when you still ask me..
and hope you never stop asking..
One of these days'...*maybe the rate I am going
I should say years* (wink~wink)

Is Carly, Christina, or Penny in your neck of the woods??

Carly for sure is in my neck of the woods then. I'm in North York, one of several distinct Toronto neighbourhoods. Ontario's a huge province, the other 2 could be close, then again, they could be as far from me as Atlanta is from Bangor.

Cheers,
Julianna
