I don't really know what this is but it's a nice plant (shrub/bush) somebody left out on the lot for us: ---------------- I suspect this is a big weed, but I've let it grow in this pot - gave it the benefit of the doubt - I'm wondering if a flower of some kind will form on the top. There's another one like it in one of my big pots on the front lot:

The first is Hibiscus rosa sinensis (tropical Hibiscus). The other .... It looks like it is about to bloom.

Well, that's nice information, Zulu . . . another hibiscus. I've found a web page for it . . . http://hibiscus-sinensis.com/hibiscus/hibiscus.htmlWe're in Toronto - zone 6a - so I don't think there's any point in putting it in the ground. Hopefully I can keep it over the winter. --------------- I'll see what that other one's going to do. weed or no weed, I do like the leaf so if it doesn't come to flower, I just might take all those stubbly little buds and see if there's seeds in them.

I'd have to say the last one is a weed I have it here and I have pulled them I posted the same thing a few weeks ago and it grows tall and does nothing BUt gets more seeds the blow off in the wind and start growing again, I'm pretty sure it's what I have here.

OK - so it doesn't get a flower. I'll let it live a while - at least till winter - ha ha! Stuff would make nice fill, methinks . . . and that's what I need on this lot - it's all pretty well wild anyway - and pretty dusty - another ha ha! I'm looking forward to seeing what the hibiscus will do over the winter - I have another one - the kind with the spindly leaves. It's a 'hardy' but still, I'm bringing it indoors.
