loz and Dodge - hey that rhymes! lol why

I think I've told the story... when I was little I had a coloring book with a picture of a train. First I colored it one color - not sure if it was red or green, but didn't like it, so I colored over that with the other color - either red or green. Know what those two colors look like mixed together??? VOMIT!

Ever since then, I don't like red and green together - ergo...
no RED flowers! Well... only a few small ones for my hummers! luv

lol Well darn that coloring book! lol

Red is my favorite color! flwr I tend to do all different colors though, my gardens are just a mish mosh of things thrown together, crammed wherever I can get them. I like the victorian "full" look. thumbup

One cool thing was I had black Hollyhocks this year courtesy of Sheri....very weird having black flowers. Athena said, ewww why do you have black flowers! lol

That's funny, loz! I've never seen true black flowers - the ones I've seen labeled black were really a very dark shade of purple.

I know some people, who shall remain nameless Lynne, don't like red, but I think this red with speckled white balsam Loz sent me and colea is so pretty. I think Loz called it balsam. We always called them touch me nots because the seed pod will pop open.

AHEM!!! I resemble that remark! lol neenee

I don't mind that red, Sheri, especially with the white speckles.
It's the very bright solid reds that usually do me in, though I am really liking my pineapple sage this year!

do you have a picture of your pineapple sage? I don't know what it looks like. That speckled red is very pretty. I've taken bunches of pictures of it because it's so lovely.

I personally do not, but some do. I'm not a big herb person in my foods, but I LOVE the way the leaves smell when they are rubbed or crushed!!!

that's how I am. I don't drink peppermint tea or perilla tea but I grow them because I love the smell.

that's the only blooms that has looked like that. Wierd. I'll send you seeds from that particular plant when I see some but I'm not sure if they'll turn out that color. All the others are colored like the 2nd picture.
