Maxi is a Maximillian. We use Maximillian, Maxi or Max Casco for him.

I never thought to call him Maxi but he started calling himself that at 4 because all his friends on the street had names like Sammy, Billy, Freddie so he added the e sound for himself. We all liked it.

It is amazing how parents push their children into hanging out with the opposite sex. They think it's cute. And you should see how parents dress their little girls to bring them to see the doctor. It's like they are shopping at Whores R Us for children.

Totally off the subject - hmmmm let me see. Let's don't let them on the majic bus. How's that for redirecting.

The whole idea of dating is to be able to go somewhere with your date WITHOUT your parents. Which means someone has to drive. So, when he is 16 and has his license, then he can ask her out to the movies or a dance. Otherwise, it ain't happening.

My first date was with Robbie who had been my good friend since 3rd grade. We went to see Godfather and he drove his daddy's big car. We felt so GROWN-UP!

But the funny thing was, whenever we remembered we'd been friends nearly all of our lives we chatted away and had the best time. But as soon as we remembered we were on an Official Date, we couldn't think of a thing to say!

I want something far better in life for Maxi than teenage parenthood or derailing his education, etc by playing at being an adult before he reaches adulthood.

I enjoyed getting dirty by playing marbles in the dirt or ball games or jumping rope ..........

I know what you mean, Bali. That's what we all did when we were young. We played outside until dark and then we'd watch the stars. Even after we lost the farm and moved into town, the town kids weren't into all that dating stuff yet. ALL the young people would just get together in big groups... there were very few "couples".

I can still play a killer game of Jacks!

OH how bad we felt when we touched ...
Playing tag in the cornfield was something else.. Glad my dad didnt know.

We were knocking down the corn. Just walking up our long lane in the dark was enough to scared the boots off us.. We had a bridge to cross and would get down on our knees to make sure we were across..ha ha
Moonlite nites were so gorgous ......Even without men..ha ha :ding:

I also liked to play blind man's bluff at night in our long driveway.

Us girls always got lost in the cornfield because we couldn't see over the tops where we were....

Yes .......The boys would not wait for us little ones in the fields.
It was so confusing to us......

We liked to lay in the yard and look up at the sky at the stars and find the dipper ......We tryed to count the stars.. ha ha
Harvest moon was so adorable.

Laying in the yard to look at the night sky is still one of my favorite memories of childhood!

There was a little boy who lived far from us (via the corn fields) who sang like an angel. Us girls didn't mind getting lost in the fields if we ended up at his farm and he sang to us! He'd sing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" like I have never heard it sung since.

We also often got lost in the woods but always managed to find something familiar to get ourselves home.
