I do not put on make-up and tell people it is because I want to be natural. But it is because I am not a morning person and I cannot put all that stuff on in the morning.
I got an already lighted tree 2 years ago from QVC and have loved it. It's got 1200 lights that can change color by remote. We got it because my grandson, Colby, has a lot of allergies, so the entire family went artificial. I never thought I'd like it but I do.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sad.
I am a person who is allergic to makeup and perfume, so In my case...... What you see, Is what you get!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
I love decorating my tree.....it's a fun part of the holidays!
Yes, I put on my favorite Christmas music and we make it a family project. Lots of fun. I try to do it after Thanksgiving dinner. Good way to work off the calories. Everybody gets involved and there is a lot of memories shared.
My birthday is in Dec. So we made it a family tradition since I had kids to put the tree up on my birthday. (When I was broke back in the old days, I asked for a tree FOR my birthday) Now I grow my own trees. They are kinda Charlie Brown trees but we don't kill anything to do it. They will regrow from below the cut.

if you would like to participate, please read the rules, then sent me a pm with Garden Swap for the subject line, and your address (if I don’t already have it) along with your email address. Phone numbers are nice, but not required. Also the words "i agree to follow the rules" in the body. here are the rules:
1 - all members must be signed up by Nov 15th (date specified) 2 – post your answers to the questionnaire in the next post. 3 - names will go out by pm on or before Nov 17th 4 - all packages must be mailed out by Dec 2nd(date specified) failure to do so will make you ineligible to participate in future gift swaps and could result in other penalties 5 - in the event of disaster striking you before you can mail out your box, notifying me as soon as possible will preserve your ability to play in the future. don't laugh, it could happen. we had 2 in the last swap. please include the reason, even if it is just "i got snowed under and couldn't do it" 6 - gifts should be mailed with a tracking number when possible (even the post office offers that for only about 50 cents more) BUT... 7 - if you order your gift to be "direct shipped" please pm me when the order is placed, with the company name so i can post "so-and-so's gift has been ordered direct ship". 8 - finally - just like last time, that there is no specific amount, but please be mindful of other's budgets, and please make sure that you would be happy if you got what you sent out. if in doubt, $15-$30 VALUE is always a safe bet. and value is much more important than cost. 9 - post that you received your gift as soon as you get it, but at least within 3 days. pictures are great if you can! if you can't either email or phone one of us. 10 - the administration of this board reserves the right to amend the rules as necessary.
here is the info questionnaire. if you want your "pal" to know the answer, but don't want it posted here, pm me.

Tina,, I believe it is a gift primarily at least that is what I do,, and I go by their questionair and try to get things on it as their fav's I also do some looking around the forum to see if they have recently asked for a particular seed/bulb or craft item and I would try to get that too,, as well as a seasonal item,, Ohhhhhhhhh man I made that sound like a lot But it really isn't.. There have been a couple of gift swaps I haven't sent any kind of seeds/bulbs/ crafts,, Just Gifts ~ having picked up on their likes and dislikes, and personality, I especially like putting somekind of funny gag gift in there too,,
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
technically it is a gift swap. but, that said, if you pay attention (or read back through) about your person, you might see that you have a $30 plant that they really want, so you could send that plus some trinkets.
or you may have read that your person likes a particular craft but the items are so expensive/hard to find, and you happen upon the supplies at 90% off. so a box of that with a trinket or two would be good.
or they don't like trinkets.
in the last swap i participated in, i got hisgal2. she was pregnant, and i found the book "toilet training your cat". since i knew she had 3 cats and shouldn't be scooping the litter box, that's what i got her along with some quilting supplies and something else i can't even remember. she does beautiful quilts.
I like gift swaps. It is so much fun anticipating what my giftee will think. Wondering who my gifter is. Stressing that I do it all correctly and on time. I did a little generic shopping this week. Then worried that I was supposed to be concentrating on plants and seeds. It is all fun. Going out again today. Anyone need anything from Toys 'r' Us?

If I get a Webkinz club name, I know my shopping will be easy. I don't know if they are selling them there or not. I need some puzzles and maybe videos for Ted for the holidays.

Cinta, I was shopping for videos and puzzles for my down syndrome son. He is truly tough to buy for the holidays and B-day. Those are the two things I know he will like to get. It is hard to find the intermediate puzzles that he is into, lots of preschool and little kid stuff. And lots of 500 plus piece puzzles but he needs something in between.

No, Ted would be much more into a kid based character one but one with 75-100 pieces. I did get him a couple of puzzles without frames and just to drive John nuts I got him one with all kinds of locks and clasps to undo. I threatened to when he was little. He will master it quickly and I will donate it to the school soon. We have had to update different locks around the house as he has mastered them.
