Here is a lighthearted, whimsical painting of Cardinals by a slight acquaintance of mine, Ursula Vernon. It reflects her Catholic upbringing as a child, mixed with her strong love and knowledge of birds. She is becoming quite famous for her art and writing and has a fan base of several thousand members now. She is 30 years old and lives in Raleigh, NC with her cat Ben, and earns ALL her income (which is becoming substantial) from writing and art. Look for her first childrens' book, "Nurk", which will be coming out this year. I have talked with her personally 10 or 15 times in the past year, mostly about birds. I had to crop the picture a bit and resize it to get it to fit here, (sorry about that, Urs.)

Ursula has a very rare and witty sense of humor and is a delightful person to talk to.

Maybe so.......I thought it made the cardinals look like Big Nosed Detectives.

Sneaky..
However ........doubt if the catholics would agree......

nope Barb---it does not do near what your does--But it works for 75% of the things I want it for--I just will not have any nice wildlife or flower pictures to share--

when DH decided I need one for my BD a few years ago, we neither one knew enough about them to be buying one--we just kinds went & bought what we liked the looks of-- rolz

But I get to see all the birds---and I DID have 1 pair of cardinals at my feeder---last year the most I had was 2 pair & an extra male---
