Wow, the ringer ones must've been a pain in the butt!!!

I think I'd like laundry more if I were on a one level home....but you see I have to take it from upstairs all the way down 2 flights of very narrow steep stairs to the basement and back....gets old really quick. rspb I keep trying to convince Mark that there's enough room for stackable washer/dryer upstairs in the hallway closet! I'd do it everyday if it were up there!

Actually I take mine down 2 flights also.......but they are wider ..
We take our really dirty clothes off down the basement so I arent complaining.
But maybe the middle would do???????

Never had a level house.

Me either Barb, every home I've lived in has been an old 2 story w/basement house.

I've fallen down the basement stairs a few times when I was carrying a lot, it's dangerous. Too bad I don't have room for a laundry chute, now I could handle that! lol

I too have to cart laundry down 2 flights of stairs to the laundry- 4 level house- love the house but it is getting harder every yr to do the baskets up and down- I have been known to throw the laundry down to the floor the laundry is on from upstairs- only when no one else is home though- don't want to drop that on anyones head... Wish I could figure out how to throw it back upstairs...Joe is good about taking it up though most of the time..
When I was a kid we lived in a huge old house in Juneau and it had a laundry chute.. laundry was in the basement- was a 2 story house with a street level basement- would be called a walk out here... that was nice... had a dumbwaiter too- house was 90 yrs old then and that was in 1961 or so..

When I was pregnant......I used to put the clothes into a drawstring bag and throw that down.......

Going up is no problem.....You could take up smaller loads or make everyone take their own up..LOL

I'm not a freak after all grin I do the same thing. In fact I dare all of you to empty your vacuums and then vacuum your mattresses~you will be shocked at the white powder(dead skin cells) that you'll collect. Wait til DH comes home tonight and I show him this topic lol

I saw a documentry several years ago about bed mites,, AWEFUL,, Since then I made sure I cleaned my bed regularly and the night stands on both sides of the bed,, Dust mites also is a cause for Asthma, nasal allergies,, scabies,, and other illnesses,,

I didn't click! haha

I don't think I've ever vacuumed my mattress.... ideamaybe I need to do that!

No matter how much you clean it though there will always be dust mites unless you have a plastic cover on your mattress. lol

Plant queen;

FIrst off there is a tendency of somefolks to go to extremes in everything.
The news media are a bunch of wackos ......
If we kill off all so called germs and dirts and mites......How would our bodies develope an immunity to it?

When they give you a shot for the flu, it has flu in the shots so you can develope an immunity to it....

If we lived in a sterile world..We would all have to live our life in a test tube.

Stupid media........

Now don't go to the bathroom theres germs everywhere.. YOu toothbrush is coated thicker then you bed...

I always heard to make sure you shut the toilet when you flush because some of the bacteria will get out and land on your toothbrush! nervous

So I religiously shut my toilet when I flush! haha thumbup

That is one of my weird things I always do.

I keep my toothbrushes in the cabinet. I scald it with boiling water once a week and replace it every month lol Good thing they're cheap at the dollar store.

when we were moving into this house I wanted to put a towel rack on the side of the vanity--the side by the toilet. valarie said, no--her friends (1 is a Dr. the other is a PA) said toilet germs can jump 2 feet--I am guessing that is when you flush--so Loz, you are right to close the lid.

BTW: my towel ring is on the wall on the OTHER side of the vanity. clap
