It's 30 deg. here and we have freezing rain. Hubby had to climb the ladder to chip ice away from the gutters. I tried to go out on the deck but it was sooooooo slick I almost fell down.
84 Friday 79 yesterday 30 and breezy right now rained earlier calling for freezing rain North and west of us Monday and Tuesday. So I guess we get 3 days of winter (maybe). Just don't understand why people here are getting sick with our beautiful weather can you.
Meet Clyde my Male Sugar Glider. Clyde says Keep it organic.

It's cold outside right now 6*F or -14*C and I can barely see a few feet in front of me. Very heavy fog. Had a bit of snow this morning. It's staying white outside something unusual for us right now. The last few years we've had a black December. Sure like what I see.

((It is not actually one of these talking thermometers--so no comment ))
BUT it is up against the kitchen window so I am guessing it is not so accurate. However it is NOT freezing out at least---and no rain to turn into sleet so that is always a plus.

I know, it was a very weird warm burst, that's not typical for us and it didn't last....Mark said when he got up today he almost wore a t shirt....lol The temps are still dropping, tomorrow there is an ice event in store for a lot of our area.
Our sun just arrived.Rain all week and it was 39 in the am ..Now it is 37 in the pm and sunny........ No snow at all.Just a bunch of mud........... They dug up the end of our lane to put in a waterline..You ought to see the mud.
Loz: the weather did that on us Sunday I think it was--in the AM it was 65--later in the day it was near freezing. silly silly weather
Isn't it strange???? This is loz---just at moms computer...didn't want to log her out...
Just got a severe weather alert for that ice storm that's coming....I sure hope it's not too bad, hopefully they cancel school.....ice is nothing to mess around with.
Loz--we had the ice too--sunday night--no school monday---then ice very early Tuesday--none tuesday afternoon & bad late tuesday night. Just cold today.

It was in the 40 here and nice and sunny and melting going on and now has dropped to 30 and very cold night in the forecast. Still have white snow on the ground meaning it hasn't gotten all dirty yet.
I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raised me up to be more than I can be.
I hope they are wrong for you and for me, Dodge. they are saying snow here, and the way things have been going, it will not be a nice snow, it will be a sloppy, cold, slippery one--so I don't want it.

thursday it is 31 degrees enough light ice to fall on ........I did. going to the carriage house to get the 4 wheeler to ride to the mail box........ Fortunately I had on a heavy coat......Fell on one arm.I am fine......Sent hubby out.. I like the job but not today..lol
This morning its 16 and still snowing from last night snow storm. We got about 6 inches of snow. but the scary thought is a north easter coming sunday and they say up to 20 inches may drop here Glad Hubby can drive now
I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raised me up to be more than I can be.
They are predicting as much as 30cm of snow this weekend (that's like 13-15inches)

Sweep it when it is nice and fluffy, then you wont have to shovel it. I like to sweep ours......Of course it fills back in........ You can make some money Ken, shovel neighbors walks........
Yup, I've had that idea Barb, i've already made the flyers, $10 per driveway, hopefully it won't snow till SUnday and i can pass them out tomorrow morning

I thought about that too Loz! (aren't I getting smart lol) I'm only going to put flyers on a few houses on either side of our house, the houses on our street are pretty much the same and the driveways pretty much the same, but thanks!!

here they mow yards... nearly all year. i saw a man on the mower just last week. the only shoveling we do is to clean out the ditches... was 80* again today
Barb, I never really thought of it that way but you're right....Springs arrival is the best, and Mark loves having the winter off from mowing in the heat. The return of the birds, a day warm enough to open the windows, watching all the bulbs come up.......ahhhhhhhh, I want spring now!

Loz,
Not only is it a break, it saves fuel for us..........On the farm all the machines come to a stop also......Tractors, and we save on that and it makes life a bit easier on the pocket book......
However we love spring awaking up all the plants and birds an bees.....Even our kids get happier.....
Tamara........
I suppose your used to your style also.........And do enjoy the green spring as we do........ :ding:
well the high today is suppose to be only 70* i guess winter is going to return. i know what you mean barb, about knowing the first blade of grass or bloom. or bird for that matter. but i do get the thrill of warm breezes back, because even with the 80* the wind has had a cool bite to it. and everything is a funky drab color, not the brilliant hues of spring.
We're having a bit of "spring like" weather right now. Just at the freezing mark, so my boys can still skate on our pond. But it's supposed to get even warmer and that means melting days, and not what they want to see.
Hopefully we'll get some snow for Christmas again cause it's almost all gone.
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
Well a little dust for christmas is ok........ However we just stay home ......And we have lots of food and heat. A generator if the power goes......HD just went for gas to keep it running if needed.
it's raining here now. and the temp is dropping. we are in the low 60's. and it is ugly out there. scott and i have to go shopping tonight for kids christmas too
we have snow--snow & some snow--and oh did I mention--it is snowing ????
but that is all better than the rain we were supposed to get because it was supposed to rain all day today then it was all going to freeze---and no ice is always a good thing-!!!

I'm doing fine Tamara, it started to snow, and there's a few centimeters on the ground from last nite, but its picking up again. I could hear the wind when I woke up this morning over the tv, very low visibility. With hope it's going to be a snow day tomorrow, but I still have to go to school because bio goes by so fast I can't afford to miss a lesson

It's been snowing all day till now, good news is I got to shovel one driveway and made my first $15, what a nice thing amidst all this snow lol It's going to hit Tamara's area soon possibly tomorrow, its going to move to North NB The weather channel says its a circular system, snow wrapped around a low pressure system, snow is flying all over the place in all directions, and wind is picking up. The snow is granular and doesn't pack so wind is carrying the snow around, it stings when the snow hits your face...ouch!

Hooray Kennyso...
Keep going......The skys the limit on the $$$$$$$$ you can make.. If your off school in the am ..Make more.. Good Boy..
You sort of looking like us......It was 38º at noon, then it sunshined n melted the ice on the truck........Then it began to snow and blow like in Maryland.
snowed here in NH all day. We got about 8 inches lot less than they predicted. Our weather is cold enough so it won't be melting any time soon. White Christmas and that is nice since we haven't had one for a couple years.

It hit us late yesterday and into the night, this is possibly one of the worst storms I've seen in years. They called for an emergency shut down of all roads, even the government plows weren't out(DH waited all night for a call). DH only got called out at 3:30 this morning, and had to push the snow with his truck in 4 wheel drive to get there.
The winds are so fierce that it's a total white out. So far we've gotten well over a foot of snow. They said Northern NB would get hit the worse and Kenny they were right. The winds are in all directions. You can't move the snow because it just lands back onto itself.

I don't remember the last one. I know in 99 they had the army shovelling from Petawawa Army, I think 400 of them. They didn't cancel the buses, it wasn't a snow day. The north of us was hit lighter, and the south (the downtown core) was hit worse than us and they both cancelled their buses....we're in the middle of the two boards. Everyone was complaining today, even the teachers

we got a total of 9 inches of snow and today was very cold with the wind factor. Snow and leaves that hadn't fallen off the tree blowing all over the place. The ski areas are just jumping for joy as we haven't had this much snow this time of year for several years. More snow for Thursday. I guess it doesn't know how to stop I wouldn't want to be a mail deliverer where you are eiher Tamara

Jiffy---- yep on our drive home saturday it was rainy/snowing/sleeting (just a bit). it changed so much because we were always driving thru places. we were on 55 south from Chicago.
90 minutes after we got home it was snowing real bad--I will go measure tomorrow to tell you how much snow we got, but it was enough--but by this afternoon all the main roads were clear--now the secondary are not so good--but if you are careful you can do OK--it was 31 today---(heat wave-- )

It's -20*C out this morning and drifting badly. DH was out at 4 am plowing roads. Our driveway is filled again, which means....barn work for me this morning followed by plowing my driveway again.

The weather man is saying we got between 6 & 8 inches of snow--at least in places---I think, here in Worden, we have something like 4 or 5 inches--everthing is white though--for sure !!

Snow is pretty but also messy. Apparently the storm from the other day dropped 18 inches on us......well they say snow makes good insulation. We're insulated good so far

Cold here this morning on the way home from work it was 7 and got up to 27 during the day. Now it is 14. Everyone is raving what a nice day it was brrrrr still cold to me. Significate snow fall for Thursday now
I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raised me up to be more than I can be.
Did you say Snow It is snowing here and we are suppose to get it most of the day tomorrow another 8 inches predicted. Plows are already out doing their thing
I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raised me up to be more than I can be.
-18*C this morning and it's snowing~ real pretty snow, the flakes are larger than an inch across and so light, it looks like feathers dropping from the sky.
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
Wish I could see that snow flake ....can you take a photo?? ha ha Wish I could do that..I dont know how................
it was 31º at 8 am Nothing happening and it looks like might sun. We have about 4 inches only bare roads, and a few drifts around.. The stupid ice is nasty.....Rain snow mix yesterday and today is calm , so far.
Gives you more time to quilt .Right. Do you go to town often?
My one friend goes one time a month .......But she goes to church weekly. now she is missing town. Only 69.
I only go to twon once a month Dodge, it is almost an hour away. We do have a little grocery store 15 minutes away that I go to twice a month as well. I haven't quilted anything so far this winter, I'm all out of material. Hopefully, after Christmas...
Still snowing..
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
Awwwwww please post some of your snow pictures....I love snow in winter and we hardly get much around here. Did snow lots when I was a child but now, I not sure if my kids know what a real snowbank looks like.
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
I only live 5 minutes from town yet it is a nice dead end street and quiet. I run errands once a week. I too hope to start getting more quilting done after the first of the year. In the morning I will try to get some snow pictures to post. sun should be out and it will be pretty
