crocus bulbs #171440 Jan 13th, 2008 at 05:34 PM Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 31,597 NY plants 'n pots OP Purl One OP plants 'n pots Purl One Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 31,597 NY I've always wanted to grow crocuses - they are so cheerful, peeking their colorful heads up first thing in spring, BUT... the @#$% squirrels have never let me enjoy any so I quit planting them many years ago. Today I was in Dollar Tree and they had a very small box of some pathetic flower bulbs in packages, BUT... the crocus bulbs were just fine and all were already sprouting! So I bought 2 packages - how could I not for just $2 for 16 bulbs, and I potted them up when I got home. Hopefully the sun will be strong enough through the window in here, and I'll be able to enjoy the bright and cheery colors in a few weeks!

I've never done that. You'll have to post a picture. I think I'm going to copy you because they are so tiny that the ones I have scattered about outside don't make a pretty show. They are always so cheery being the first ones up in my yard and I get all excited over seeing those little flowers. Hope it works out for you Lynne, and like you said for that price it's not a bad gamble.

I got some saffron crocus and planted them, leaves came up fine and all but no blooms? Helping the world one seed at a time When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. Yours are looking really good in the pot....that's about what mine are like outside right now.
