if you cannot resist the pie--eat only the inside and perhaps a bite of the crust--that way you will have tasted it, and will be less likely to "go off the wagon" as it were. the fruit will be good for you and if you are careful the rest of the day--the extra sugar will not have that big an impact.

I think the reason I haven't "dieted" lately---I use that word loosely---is because I really think that you have to have a whole lifestyle change to really succeed. Eating healthier, exercise....not really a diet, just a change of your habits.

And you know what? I'm not ready for all that yet! haha I know as Mark and I get older that I need to make healthier food.....I'm just sort of in denial about it I guess. egad

You know what really angers me though? People WANT to eat healthier to a degree at least......and it's terrible that the healthier foods are so expensive. It's the junk/bad food that's so cheap. That is one of my pet peeves....I wish the food companies would offer cheaper, healthy food.

BTW, I think all of moms candy is GONE! lol

Yup, all that fancy fresh produce and chicken breast and such costs a fortune.

Yep and even if you wanted to buy a Healthy Choices prepackaged meal or any of those low fat brands you pay an arm and a leg for a little tiny meal.

I just wish healhy eating was more affordable to everyone.

I don't need to loose any weight either. I'm just a junk food addict, cookies and Pepsi and when I did the eating better thing a couple of years ago I felt better. Loz, I think the older I got the more I noticed that the sugar high made me tired after a while. I'm going to TRY and do better. I'm addicted to sugar and caffeine and don't know if I can kick the habit. shots

Sheri, I kicked caffeine about 5 years ago.....when I did I was so tired and slept for a few days. It was pretty bad. But I went from 6-8 sodas a day to nothing but caffeine free stuff. Pretty brutal.

I think I'm addicted to sugar too. I still drink a lot of soda...and I can't do diet soda. So I'm sucking down 140 empty calories with each soda I drink. Wow that's a lot when you think that I have 3 sodas a day.

I'm an evening snacker too. Cookies, chips, cereal. I always eat in the evening after dinner. I guess I could try and cut that out.

The water thing is good! We buy bottled water and I do drink a few of them a day! You can do it!

I'd try the Coke Zero, Coke is my favorite....but I can't do caffeine now...so that limits me a lot. I sure wish there were more choices. I'd love a caffeine free Dr. pepper, but I don't think they make it.

are you sure they don't Loz--I thought I saw a can of the caffiene free--BUT perhpas it was just the diet???

Loz--have you tried "watered downs" as valarie used to call them.
Put ice in a glass (lots) fill glass about 1/2 to 3/4 full of soda--then add water to fill the glass. Stir well--you will then have the flavor of the soda without all the calories. as time goes on you will be able to increase the amounts of water---

Hi guys, haven't been on here much because I too have been working hard on loosing weight. I have done it before and know what I have to do. Drink water, exercise and watch my food intake. counting every calorie! I found a site where you put in your food and they keep track of your calories, and lots of other stuff. Any one interested? it is a life style change and each time I do it i pick up a good habit. Eventually I will pick them all up thumbup

how are things going for everyone? I fell off the wagon when I was sick last week. I had a sore throat so I didn't eat a lot but I drank gallons of Pepsi. I'm going to try and taper off of the Pepsi. That's my main problem and I heard Dr. Oz on Oprah talk about it the other night. I started yesterday, with the tapering I mean.

thumbup tapering is the way to go. when i was able to come off coca-cola, i lost about 20 pounts. it found me again when i started drinking sweet tea, but it took a few years.

Well then I have 2 bad habits. I brgan drining regular pepsi instead of diest and I began putting real sugar in my coffee instead of spenda.--I recently read that soemthing i n sweetner can make going to the bathroom more frequent.--I stiopped the splenda and my 'urgency' stopped--and so then I began to drink 'real' soda too--and guess what I have gained aobut 10-20 lbs.

I must figure out what to do--perhaps I will start with cutting out the soda???

leola--still not released from the Dr. yet.

I have to brag on myself. I have been doing quite well. Since Wednesday I've only had a little more than 20 ounces of real Pepsi. I had a little headache for a day but it's gone now.

I lost 2 lb this week. The only way I can do it is being very rigid on myself. exercise, drinking water, and keeping track of all I eat. It takes a lot of effort and time to log food in. Eventually it will become a life stye I hope.

Hey,toposh.Am I the only teen from California on here??? I'm not into dieting since it's just a scam to me.I'm 5'3" and overweight. I'm proud that I'm not the slowest kid in my P.E. class. clapI excercise just enough to keep me able to run for 30 seconds or up to half a mile.A shocking incident happened to me a few days ago.Somebody(probably my siblings)shoved a bunch of twinkies into my mouth when I was asleep. I had to eat the twinkies or I would choke. boohoo
