There's FOS Sparrows, too? Oh, dear....

Think I'll go do some genetic manipulation and create a Coyote Sparrow. It'll howl at the Sunflower.

I did some genetic manipulation of my own (my 2nd edit of that post) and turned it back into a Fox Sparrow.

My Goldfinches are starting to molt, I'm seeing splashes of bright yellow.

I just snapped fox sparrow from the book.
Will upload and show and tell.

I love the birdbath pictures - I have several birdbaths in my yards but have only once seen a bird splashing around in one.

I didn't get any photos today, but I saw no less than 4 Fox Sparrows at my mom's house. That's double the number I've ever seen before at one time!

my batteries are dead so no birds today.

I added a NEW Yardbird today. I was standing by my mailbox waiting for the bus when a Pileated Woodpecker flew by within site of my front door. It was the FIRST time I have seen or heard a Pileated in THIS yard, so that makes it a Yardbird. It flew before I could get a picture of it, but there's a GOOD chance it WILL be back. I will pay CLOSE attention from now on with camera at the ready! I have now had four of the seven species of woodpeckers found in my area in my yard. Now I need to get a Hairy Woodpecker, a Red-Headed Woodpecker, and a Northern Flicker to complete the category. Not very likely, as the Red-Headed Woodpecker, although in the area, is quite rare and very specific as to habitat. I have seen only TWO of them in 19 years of birding and that was a mated pair on a tree, about 16 years ago.

THAT sounds like how I know flowers and cows.. Now I will learn birds.

rechargerable batteries
eneloop charger and batteries in a pkt. I got them at Circuit city. going on 4 months now..
I never used the ones it came with..

I'm not sure which kind of woodpecker it is, but this past fall we had one in our yard nearly every day for about a month! I had never seen one up close before and never realized they were so BIG! He liked the berries of my southern magnolia alot, and now I have reason to enjoy those annoying pods that fall off of it every year! lol I really hope he comes back this year. We've named him "Woody" after the cartoon character!

I've seen red headed in my area and one time a pileated woodpecker. The pileated was so big and slow moving that I didn't know what it was. I called my sister and she told me. I only saw it that 1 time.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH Nice Johnnie.
I would not buy the camera till I figured out how to do a good recharge on it and hope it was not as bad as the other one. SO far no regrets on that.

The man at the place where Johnny bought mine gave him 2 sets of batteries so I haven't even thought about that until they went dead. I love this camera we have.

I use rechargeable batteries, too. I use the 15 minute rechargeable batteries.

Your choice.

I dont like worrying if I go to a wedding, and the camera dies..Naw I will settle for 7 hours overnite.. I was chasing a robin today.. If Iv'e time I can show ..Not good but better.

I am love it too.. Am going to do a movie some time, after I find moving stuff..

I just plug the camera into the tv and see what I have , so I dont have to upload bad stuff at all.
Both cameras work that way..

These two birds were migrating south above my house this morning. They made quite a ruckous.

Those are some wonderful birds.

Watched one on tv last nite up in Oregan, helping carry cables to haul out logs. Oh my gosh what a hill to us those birds on.
