Hi all,
Had a rough day today- I am worn out- I have to be able to sleep tonight and got permission from Mom's doc to give her tylenol pm to help her sleep longer I hope, we also have to call them at 8 am to see if we can get her in tomorrow afternoon for her checkup, doc is off all next week... seems they all are around here.. the neurologist wants her to have a brain scan MRI = that will happen the 25th.. and he says she needs a different walker- sure hope they can get her medicare to pay for it.. we are supposed to have a therapist visit tomorrow too.. and a social worker who can help us set up stuff will come too soon I hope... she has new dosages for her pills too and a patch that is supposed to help her not lose any more memory.. what really made me angry was she was given it before witha scrip and my sister decided she didn't need it... she may not have lost so much if she had gotten it for her... I mean how hard could it have been to stick a patch on her every day... trying really hard to let it go but some things are a lot harder than others to forget and forgive.
Joe called his doc and before he can have an MRI on his back he has to see an ortho specialist... and get a referral to the MRI lab , only way insurance will pay for it.
Boys were really good today though... they played outside cause it was nice for the most part- they played with bubbles... and when Joe got home he played with them.
Well we are ready to eat dinner- gotta do that and get Mom her meds too-
Nana

Hi jiffy thank you for ur concern and for being there kissie I did speak with my great grandma the funeral was held in madisonville kentucky i thought it was going to be in indiana but i was wrong... She was upset when i talked to her but she knows shes in a better place now.... my mom kept busy buy going out and looking for a house to buy... We were going to buy a house up by live oak florida with some land but were going to buy one down here while the market is low and then i guess sell when it gets high again.. were going to probably be getting one with a pool though which is cool....

Today i got another plant it is a hibicus.... its very pretty.. I got to figure out what im going to do with it im thinking about putting it in a glazed pot out in the front yard and digging out and area and putting rocks there and then plant some waxy begonias i think their called around them... it's something to keep me busy but my thoughts might change... im going to spend easter at my grandma's and then spend a week there so it will be good to get away for a while... don't quite know what im going to do while im there but ill figure it out... my siseter and aunt should know if they got their apartment tomorrow... hopefully!

it sounds like you have a good plan on the hibiscus. i had one that grew in a pot for years until we had a fire in our yard.

and they are called wax begonias. very pretty plants.

that particular fire, we aren't sure. we had 2 back to back. one in our yard, lapped the side of the house, didn't get the house, thank God. the second was a wild fire that got withing 3 lots of our house, but didn't get to us. somewhere there are posts about it with pictures.

nana, i'm glad i don't have snow... i hate snow.

well folks, i'm about out of here. i'm tired tonight and have to be up early because the dorms open tomorrow.

Good morning everyone ~

I'm having a busy day today getting ready to go to dialysis later this afternoon. There always seems to be so much to do and not enough energy to do it with.

They want me to eat 2 oz of protien a 1/2 hour before dialysis but I can't think of any protein I feel like eating at 3:30 in the afternoon. I'm not real fond of protein foods and can only eat small bits of them at a time. Dunno if I can do a 2 full oz. I'm thinking I might hard boil some eggs, which would give me many options.

My physical therapist is 3 hours late and is going to be later still. But I don't mind because that just gave me time to do more puttering and resting.

I wish our weather would improve.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I did my usual bus and school runs. Now I need to get a major grocery shopping thing done. I have laundry running. It is a busy weekend coming up.

We have a bit of Easter shopping remaining.

It's still so nasty out, almost 2 feet of snow down in 3 days and still snowing. The winds are playing havoc as well, they've announced for people to stay home and off the roads again.

Hi all,
We just finished with a visit from the person to set up therapy for Mom- OT and PT both starting next week.. she is also getting us a bedside commode so tht will make it easier for us to manage those needs in the middle of the night- that will help a lot...
She also told me of another place that lends equipment, so maybe we can get a walker with a seat that way... though she said giving Mom 4 wheels may not be a good idea- she could go to fast with it... but maybe for the Dr visits and stuff it would work out better... we will see - medicare doesn't cover them so will have to see what we can afford- craigslist and ebay too.
One good thing out of all this is I've lost 5 lbs-- who would know being a caregiver could be actually good for you?
Well it's windy here today and warm but sure doesn't feel like it-- will really need to bundle up Mom for her doc appt today- Teresa and I are taking her at 1 to her reg doc for a checkup... that will be the last for a while for her I think....
I am sure glad I did the Easter shopping before now- got all the stuff ready to put together... will have an egg hunt if weather cooperates for the kidlets...
Well back later- have a good day all.
Nana

I just blew through $300 even in the grocery store. We now have a lot of convenience foods in that we normally don't get. It was a very hard trip for John. Probably his last to shop for food. And I forgot a few things because I was in a hurry to get him out of there. It is hard to be his driver right now.

shock And I just pulled over $9 in coupons that I had planned on using out of my pocket. I picked up all of the required things from them but forgot to use them at the checkout.

Thank you Tamara. John says any day he is breathing is a good day. Some are just gooder than others. He really wanted to go out today though, so we did. The only place he has been in the last month was to medical stuff.
