I'm not sure this is the right place for this but I think it is. This guy was out by my car when I left work and he barely moved when I tried to get close enough to get his picture.
Cheryl, American Robins will let you get quite close to them and many of the ones in my yard run right up to within 3 or 4 feet of me if I am sitting down. I have some great pictures of them. I LOVE to catch them when they have a worm in their mouth. It is the Quintessential Robin Image.

Thornius, I've never been able to get so close to one before and it seems that there are more of them this year than usual.
Wrennie, go right ahead, it's perfectly okay with me. I'm not usually a bird picture taker (my camera doesn't zoom very well or I would be) so I really enjoyed getting this picture. Sometimes I'm really thankful that I take my camera with me almost everywhere I go or I would've missed the opportunity.
Your friens appears to have a wee bit of partial albino in him. That condition is fairly common in Robins. I see a partially albino Robin about every 5 years in person, and see dozens of NEW pictures of them each year on the Web.

I don't know much about birds, but wish I did. I didn't know there was a such thing as partial albino. I'm hoping that my stellar's jay comes back this year and I can get a pic of him. Those are very pretty birds and I was very proud of myself for being able to identify what it was.
Thorny, that robin doesn't look like ours-to me that one in the photo is THE ROBIN. Seen only in books. Is the one here a "real robin" or is it something else? It looks like a sparrow with an orange chest. Some have black and white striped heads. Also, now I have a hummer with a white underneath. Never saw one before.
There may be different Robins, OR it could be something ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. See if you can get a picture. Cheryl's and my poses are VERY Typical of American Robins. 90% of the Robin photos you take look just like that (except for this one of twp Robins fighting).
