Well between losing power yesterday and my mixer giving out on me this morning....it was a battle, but here it is.

From the start to the almost finished. The final pic will only get to you this week. I can only add the flowers and the topper tomorrow at the hall.

The start of it all.

Looks really pretty. I could never do that. Mine would be burnt and lopsided. Good job!

Yep tamara you were right to bake the cake yourself--it is beautiful !! if you don't say no one will suspect you did it all yourself. it is definately bakershop quality--and probabily will taste better. !!!

Congratulations----and I too cannot wait to see the finished product !!!

PS You should go into the business---you could well undercut the Professional Shops & still make a healthy profit !! shots

that is a thin layer of icing or glaze you put on a cake before you frost it for real. it keeps all the crumbs on the cake and keeps them from messing up the "pretty" icing.

the bakery my aunt worked in made the crumb coating by watering down the regular icing so it would go on thin.
