Yep tamara you were right to bake the cake yourself--it is beautiful !! if you don't say no one will suspect you did it all yourself. it is definately bakershop quality--and probabily will taste better. !!!

that is a thin layer of icing or glaze you put on a cake before you frost it for real. it keeps all the crumbs on the cake and keeps them from messing up the "pretty" icing.
the bakery my aunt worked in made the crumb coating by watering down the regular icing so it would go on thin.
