do you know about Louet Yarns Pattern Subscription Service ~ If you're interested in this I can send you the email I received. You can have access to all their patterns. It's not free.
Mel - some of the cutest pictures I have seen of this pattern has straight pins stuck all over the cactus - the kinds with the colorful balls on the ends - too cute!!!
Sheri - I have not heard of that, but for now I only doing free patterns - thanks for the idea though.
I wish I could link to those pictures, but the site I go to is by invitation only and we are unable to do any links. People have been using them for pin cushions - again - tooooo cute!
Thanks you two, it's actually for my best friend...but it's a big secret---I'll hold on to it until Christmas. I've made just about everyone and their brother blankets, but I've never made one for her.
I told her the other day I bought her something that was a surprise and I had to work on it and she wouldn't get it for a long time....she was like LOZ, that's so not fair----what is it.
That picture actually isn't a fair representation. I folded the length over and if you look in the middle where it looks different that's one end joined up to the other to show it off better.....I made it quite long so each row takes me a while---my wrist aches after doing it a bit---the right one is the one I broke in 3 places years ago.
Nice Loz, I prefer the mixed colored yarn also.. I crochet, but the holes in the hat kept me cold. I bought one this year, with thinsulation .. Is there such a thing as thinsulation yarn?
Sorry your wrist hurts so much when you crochet, loz, but I can surely sympathize what with having sprained my right thumb years ago - it's never been the same.
Did you mean to say that it was "baby" yarn? Or is it really "bay" yarn?
Ohhhhhhh ok - gotcha. It's just that when I did a google search for "Red Heart Bay Print yarn" the other day, nothing came up except for "baby". Don't need the search now that you posted the picture.
Very nice, Jiffy. I know you struggle with your sausage fingers lately. Keep them moving when you can or you lose more of the motion. (and get a door knob you can open with your elbow) You really are doing some good work there.

the blanket was a crazy stitch pattern using double crochet and the pillow is double crochet with a dropped triple to make the pattern. i think it looks almost like a hound's tooth pattern in the picture.
