Yuck! I'm absolutely sure we won't ever have that in my town. The rain clouds part and go around us. It is bizarre!
What if I used preen/corn gluten on everything already up to start, then used straw on the potatoes, mulch on the tomatoes, broccoli, squash and other little things like greens, and weed blocker fabric on the peppers and melons? And the onions and corn will get lots of preen and some hand weeding I guess. Is there anything else I could use straw on? I have three bails there.
Well I am off to the dentist, rent a tiller and till, then plant. Hope the tooth doesn't hurt LOL! prayers

I'm so glad I didn't get more done last week. We had a big hailstorm come through last night. I have never seen hail like that. Everything pretty much survived in my garden. I am glad I hadn't yet planted peppers, squash, cucs, and melons! grin They were safe under the deck.
Today I put in squash and melons and covered with a floating row cover. I also covered the tomatoes with floating row cover. It has been so cool here.
good luck to all in surviving mother nature! kissie
