I better harvest some more peas.

We are still cleaning up from the winters damage, seems to be never ending.

I'm sorry to hear about all your winter damage Tamara. I hope you can start planting and getting into the fun stuff real soon.

I've still digging things up to take to the new place. So far I've seventeen pots planted with things I'm taking and I'm over the half way point lol. I had no idea I had this much stuff around the place.

And that's not counting the houseplants. Where am I going to fit them all in the pathfinder hummmmmmmmmmmmm?

O.k. I burned all the brush...I feel better now that everything looks cleaner.

Still more work to do later.

Your gonna need to rent a big truck Tammy.

today I spread newspaper and hay around my cantaloupes, and picked a jalepeno from the garden. (used it in my chili for super!)
tomorrow I must get on some mowing.

I needed to spread newspaper down under my grass too but I opted for the shorter version--& just did the grass.--now I need more grass.---good thing it is taking so much.--now our grass will grow lots.

all I did was pick some asperagus and change out some edging---going for the plain green in y garden & the stone look around my flowerbed.

Pruned back the apple trees today.

Picked 7 pods today. .On Monday,my peas peaked production-32 pods in one day!Yesterday I harvested 29 pods.

Leave a plant to be squashed when they demolish the building? Oh No I couldn't, lol.

Most of the plants have been from trades I made here. I couldn't leave them behind they are like my babies.

I'll get them all to my new home. Although my friend who is driving the truck may have a full load of them in his passenger seat lol.

I rented the 17 ft truck from U-Haul. It should carry everything I own.

I just walked around the garden yesterday. I wasn't up to potting anything.

Tammy...it'll all fit. If not just throw out some furniture

Well, I pruned a few more shrubs and cleaned up the little garden bed. Some things need to be divided but I need help with the shovel.....due to the fact that DH hid the shovel on me too.

today it's been raining but I went ahead and planted some more irises and some more naked ladies and some more lily of the valley and prunded a rose bush (I know it's the wrong time but it's just too bushy) yesterday I mowed and weed eatted (about 4 hours of that) I still have a hibiscus to get in the ground and elephont ears and need to plant some more seeds

I'll have to water my garden and harvest more peas.

I picked up some pots from from the street (its trash day tomorrow)got a 12" pot and a 14" pot i think. And also two other smaller ones.

what are you going to do with those pots?Use them for cooking or for planting flowers in?

Well yesterday I was out there trying to figure out how I'm going to get my anemonies and not all the weeds that are mixed in with them. I'll figure out a way. It rained again last nice so the ground is going to be nice and soft. Easy to get at the plants today.

while it is the 'rainy' season, dig up all the plants.

place on a piece of newspaper---remove the weed plants--& then re-plant the anemonies--the rain will seat them back in--none the worse for wear.

cool idea Juniegirl thankyou. I'll get out there and do that as soon as it stops raining. The anemonies are hardy enough to withstand that without a problem. I think I'll use the same technique on the chinese lanterns. They too can handle that.

Kenny good find on the pots. I always seem to be looking for pots lol.

that's what I do when the weeds get too mixed in with the plants - just dig the whole thing up and work the roots.
Yesterday I papered and hayed the okra and put out some crushed garlic on a couple of ant spots in the garden.
Today I plan on papering and haying a new flower bed I made about a month ago, and still haven't gotten around to 'dressing'. and spreading some compost in the garden.

I am so excited for this weekend! It's finally going to be warm and sunny. No, HOT and sunny. I have a lot to do outside and will finally be able to get to it because it won't be cold and rainy. I've got tons of weeding to do and general clean up, some pruning and bush trimming that I've been putting off. Happy gardening this weekend!!

Today I potted up some of the chinese lanterns, anenomies, A ground cover that I haven't identified yet, some daffodils and a couple of columbines. There are still a few to go. But I'm going to need help with at least one of them. It has a tap root that goes on forever.

I hand pollinated zukes today;no bees are around.

ohh...they were plastic flower pots. I'm going to put my passionflower in one and I can't think of what to put in the other. I wanted to put a brug inside, but I don't think it's big enough.

I went out and exchanged the ipod shuffle that I got for store credit. My aunt didn't know I already have an mp3 from my other aunt, so when she saw me listening to it, she said if I didn't have a use for it [the ipod] I should go back and get store credit..."you might as well get something that you want or need" so that's exactly what I did...
ended up buying a cheap 50' hose
a small bag of lawn seed
and a weeding 'stick'

it rained most of today, but I got a somethings done outside.
I cut off the spent tulips blooms...such a shame, but I actually prefer no flower rather than half a flower...I just think it's too messy with half a flower

I disbudded the two peonies, took a while, and got my hand and arm all sticky, but I guess the bigger flowers will be worth it!

I weeded the back yard lawn of all the dandelions, and docks

'passion flower'....your from canada, it's probably a totally different plant, but down here we have a passion vine. I just love them. Oddest flower i've ever seen. you can't even say it's pretty, just odd and it looks like it's been turned inside out. (If anyone is interested I'll post a pic.)
anyway, today I picked a few peppers, spread some compost,...gosh...I think that's all I did! ha ha

Today I actually got some of my weeding done. I didn't really feel like doing it but once I got into I was fine. I found what looked like little nest areas of earwigs. Not sure if I should do anything about getting rid of those. I pruned dead leaves off a mystery plant and pruned my snapdragons as well. I also noticed that my chocolate cosmo is coming back so that made me happy.

all i did was water my daughter's plants. didn't get to play in my garden today

here's the passion vine...a pic from last year. the underside of this flower is pretty impressive too, but don't have a pic of it. they are just beginning to bloom, I can take more pics later if anyone wants to see. jiffy, your in zone 8, I would think they'd grow where you are??? we get bunches of seed pods! I'd glady share if your interested. (they are native/adaptive here.)


oh, and one of the peppers we picked from the garden today was a sweet gypsy...first year to grow them, but I'm in LOVE! I'll start a new thread..maybe tomorrow on how to harvest the seed. the tag doesn't say hybrid??? but we'll talk about all that somewhere else.

I've been wanting some passionflower for over a year. I'll have to see what kinds of seeds I have if you'd like to trade with me. I really love those flowers and I have a perfect spot for them but have been unable to find any. Beautiful pic by the way.

well yesterday I used my lawn sweeper & got myself some grass clippings for my herb garden & for my asperagus bed.
--I trimmed the grass around the bricks of what my kids call my patio area--(just a bit of rock & pavers making a landscaped area between my dog pen & the deck area.)

I transplanted my amaryllis to a different pot--(someone---- ) put the A bulb in one of my 2 matching clay pots that I use on my front steps in the summer.

I used my leaf blower on my front porch & my gagage 'apron'

and today I helped the DH plant my new crimson King maple tree in the back yard-

I watered my garden today.

nature is beautiful, and those that can see it...well, they are beautiful too!

I think you have a maypop? i'm not too sure. my vine I grew from seed from a passionfruit...i bought a passionfruit just to get the seeds...it was still cheaper than buying a 2.5" plug from the online nurseries. I think it's Passiflora incarnata or edulis, not too sure. They sure are beautiful plants!



Send me your addy, I still have some seeds from the fruit. They sprouted for me in less than a week, but it's been a while now (say a few months?) and they may take longer to sprout. Let me know if you want some. I would offer to send a cutting, but it's still a bit chilly here and I'm not sure how it'll do in a 2 eek trip, but if you want to try, I'll be glad to send you a cutting.

I finally got most of my irses planted and I got several packages of seeds planted, more zinna's more love in the mist, more malva and some Hollyhocks

Sorry Tamara, I think you've got our system from yesterday...

I got a dead tree in my yard it gets morning sun, think I'll plant a vine on it.
