In the heat of the summer they will stop blooming and begin again when it gets cooler in the fall.
Sooooooo I will dead head every other one, and start collecting seeds,, and let seeds fall on their own,, Hopefully I will have them again and again . I planted them with a mixture of home compost, rich potting soil, and humus/ manure mixture, all well mixed within natural ground soil,, and watered in with super thrive. In a week I will give them a feeding of bloom burst.

hi--I am looking for the white soprano--found a white one at wal-mart but didn't buy it as it was fairly tall. I think the white soprano is more 'compact' is that right??/
I have the crescendo orange & the compact purple

My friend, Myrna, went to visit her sister on Saturday after we went to the perennial nursery in the morning. She has found a terrific nursery down there in NJ, and this was her second trip. I had asked her to get some purple osteos for me - she got 12 small pots for $15 - not bad!!! The small ones I bought here were $3 each. She gave them to me today, but the boss was there this last time and charged her $20 for the same 12 plants, so that's what I paid - not bad really - still much cheaper than what I paid. They are going to be taller than the ones I have already - I might plant them over at my mom's - I always plant her rock garden and others for Mother's Day.
That's white seprano isn't it?? I can't tel real well,, is the Center a rich blue color???
I'm Hooked,, I think I saw another one at the same nursery,, discovering it after I got home and looked them up on the net,, At the nursery, It wasn't with the other ostreo's I think it was called Palmo?? something like that,, I'm going back to the nursery to see!!!!!

did you get them planted? Pictures?
Diane, do you think mine is the white sorprano? If so I'll save seeds.
Yes Sheri I do believe yours are the white soprano. Nope I haven't found it yet,, well on the internet yes,, but I don't want to order them on the net,
I caught birds eating the seeds from mine today,, I was letting them dry up,, I guess early bird gets the seeds,, I need to be a little faster getting out there and harvesting the seeds,,
