Yesterday and today I planted my onions and the onions my new neighbor brought me. He also said he could get me some tomato plants. Isn't that a great present to get from my new neighbors? They are really nice.

I am really lucky. I thought I would share my gladiolus with them. I did get quite a few of them when they were at the dollar store.

I just put in my second round of onions a few days ago--they seem to be doing well--and my tomatoe plant is sitting on the front porch---to be planted in one of my containers yet----I think it will all work out for the best---and it is so nice of your neighbors---good neighbors make all the difference. I am su re they would appreciate some glads.

Note to Cindy: lol I will say that I have heard that unless you actually plant the tomato & onion sets they will not grow, but then I am no expert. lol---but if you intend to do any gardening---perhaps Bill could fix you up some containers so you do not have to bend over & pull at your abdomen?? I have done that this year--and it is working great---then maybe you could leave all the gardening to Bill this year???

I did buy a fair sized tomato plant though.--a 'better bush' I think it is??? supposed to have the old fashioned flavor?? We shall see.

I never got anything ready yet...I did buy some veggie seeds but never got my seedlings yet. We'll probably get another frost or so this week with the full moon anyway.

My veggie plot needs to be reworked again and the drills made. DH is taking another grader course so he has no time for the extras here. Oh well, I can only get to town on the 13th anyway...garden center watch out lol

I agree the garden center had better watch out. Because just as soon as I find it I'm sure I'll go nuts lol.

I've been saying gratitude prayers just about every time I stop for breath. This is so much better than I ever could have imagined.

Did I mention that there is a dairy farm just about a quarter mile away where they will let you get manure free that is aged? How great is that?

Don't feel bad TK, we got our garden in late as well. I just got my corn in today.. and have yet to get my green onion seeds and lettuce seeds in.. I doubt the lettuce will do any good.. too hot, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. thumbup

I got 6 tomato plants from my neighbor today. So they got planted right away. He brought over a 5 gallon container of aged cow manure too. So I know the tomatoes are going to have a wonderful start.

There is no way I'm doing squash, radishes or carrots this year. But, I am going to do peppers. Then I'll just overwinter them in the house. The seeds don't last very long when stored. At least, mine haven't.

The tomato plants are dead. It was just to hot. Makes me think the peppers probably wouldn't do well either. I'll just wait until winter and then begin everything in the house again lol. That bay window is going to be very full. And maybe the master bedroom as well.
