wavy Morning all.

I'm having second cuppa breakfast and trying to get woke up enough to finish getting ready for church. This afternoon I'm going up to our church camp for a dinner welcoming a new "head honcho".
(Someone was keeping me up too late last night!) LOL haha

I remember when you were keeping me company while I waited when Don was in surgery last winter and you were on all sorts of websites with that jewelry that I couldn't see at the time! Talk about teasing!!! But that was fun and I really appreciated your company! I bet you and Shirley had a GREAT time last night too!

'morning Carol!!! Enjoy your cheerios = which kind do you eat? Sorry to say but the plain ones taste like cardboard to me!

It is so cold out this morning that I need to get up and close the windows in here - I am still in my nightie and I'm freeeeeeeeezing!!! BRB!

G'morning Lynne & thanks---I eat the plain cheerios--I actually DO like them but I eat them because while I like oatmeal--there is no way I could eat 1-1/2 cups of the stuff every day. With the cherrios if I don't feel like eatign that much for breakfast I just pour the set in a container & snack on them the rest of the day,

cool--lucky you---it is still nice here BUT after the coming rain & mild storms that are in the forcast (in a few days here) I think the weather is going to go thru the roof---yuck---I could do without the 90's & above.

I agree Carol - yesterday was just way too hot for my poor tired body! I couldn't even stay outside and watch the fish eat after I fed them at 6:30 - the heat was just too much for me in that tired state you know? However Don and I did eat dinner out on the deck for the first time this summer after the sun went down behind the trees - it was much cooler there than in the house with still no working AC! The electrician is supposed to be here at 8 tomorrow morning. Another day that I won't get to sleep in unfortunately! Oh, well... if it means the AC will be fixed!

As for the cheerios - you remind me of when my kids were little and I always had a container of them to snack on no matter where we were. To this day, you can find cheerios on store floors from some toddler!!!

OOOOOOOOOPS - speaking of feeding the fish - I better get out there and give them breakfast - it's getting very dark out and it does look like the rain we're supposed to have all day is about to start!

I'll be back in a few...

Yous AC--Oh my goodness I had assumed/hoped you had that fixed already.

Well tomorrow cannot come quick enough then.--and uyes getting up early is a small price to pay.

yes cheerios---somewhere I have a little yellow disc that has cheerios written on it. I kept it in hope of using it again for one of my daughters children???.

and yes I think cheerios for a childs snack is one of the things that has not "gone out of style"

Well, I hate to leave good company but I need to go get dressed & begin my day---catch you later. wavy

wavy bye everyone wavy

I, too, have that plastic yellow cheerios container - I know exactly where it is in my pantry too! lol touched

Well I saw some of the fish when I fed them but they didn't come out to eat - wonder if they don't like the dark skies? I was about to plant some vinca that have been living on my driveway for a couple of weeks now, but it started to rain on me - guess I won't be doing that today either...

So now I'm having my cereal here - anyone still here?

I'm here again, Lynne. I got caught up in solving a very difficult crossword puzzle because it was full of phrases based on puns.

Maxi still isn't feeling well and got out of bed early this morning, climbed into my bed and fell deeply asleep until just a few minutes ago. I've been rolling in and out of my room to check on him and try to catch at least a few minutes of my shows, but I was reluctant to wake him since this is the first real rest he's had. I want him to be completely recovered in time to go to camp next Sunday!

He said his ear is much improved but he is still terribly congested and his voice still is off.

I'm going to coax him to eat a little something.

Sorry Maxi isn't feeling well Merme - I hope he is all better by next weekend!

My daughter is camping this weekend by the Delaware River with 4 girlfriends. They were supposed to go white water rafting today, but it's been thundering here all day. A little rain on and off... wonder if they are having this there? She did call about 2 hours ago to say that it was raining earlier when they were going to cook breakfast and they couldn't start a fire, so they went out to eat instead. Of course the food arrived then and she quickly hung up on me - KIDS!!!

I grew up along the Delaware, Lynne, and your post stirred some nostalgia for me! I hope the girls are having fun in spite of the rain! And it would be really nice if the skies cleared for them!

When I did much camping when I was young, I always carried "waterproof" matches. You can buy them already coated with wax (very expensive!) or do them yourself. I did them myself, buying big boxes of kitchen (wooden) matches and dipping them in melted parafin. They dry quickly and store easily.

Maxi did eat some lunch so I'm guessing he is on the mend. He has an appointment with his pediatrician on Tuesday afternoon but hopefully he'll be in good shape by then.

Did you get your vincas in the ground? Or is the weather still not cooperating?

No vincas in the ground - we are under a SEVERE thunderstorm warning right now and it's as dark as midnight right now with the thunder booming closer and closer.

I am soooooooo nervous about the girls - I hope the raft rental place is an honorable one and did not let them go out if it was even thundering in the distance there!!!

I just put five chicken leg quarters in to roast. It is a bit early to be starting supper, but with the severe T-storms in our area, I thought it might be a good idea to get them cooked now in case we lose power later!

It is really getting wild out there!

Maxi is bringing his bike in the house.

Hi, everyone. I've been a busy little bee today. we have shishkabobs on the grill and they are almost ready. my daughter put some of our cherry tomatoes on the 'bobs. I've never had them that way, but I"m looking forward to it. she loaded garlic on one side of them and a jalapeno on the other. mmmm...mmm.
our little dauchhunds weekend guest just left. I will miss them, but I'm so relieved they left like they came....alive! that little female never did learn to behave herself in another dogs territory.
I'm sure maxi will be his old self in no time. I've often thought of how quickly children get over their illness's. I believe it's due to the fact we make our children rest and eat and drink fluids. as an adult we think we're tough enough to not have to rest and keep going to work and doing dishes and mowing the lawn.
gonna go check on the bob's. hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

of course she hing up on you --that is what teens do--if she had not of, we would ahve h ad to get a posse together & so see if she was well----- lol
However you can take comfort in the fact that she DID call you and she is ok.--

NOTE to 'Mom': I believe the real truth is Amy called you so you would not be worried (extra) about her--and to hear your voice.--and while she will NEVER admit it----if you start paying attention to the things she asks when she calls--I bet you will see it too.

Bless Amy and all the other "Amy's" on the world. kissie

Hi all.
It's been a quiet day here, spent most of it cleaning and lemon oiling my oak furniture- big job but it is done for awhile now-- washed windows too- couldn't stand them anymore- don't care if it rains again and spots them - today they look nice. LOL!
I got a couple big pkgs of chicken yesterday too- cooked them up today... bbq sauce in one pan and used plain yougurt and seasoned cornflake crumbs on the other- will have dinner tonight and freeze rest for later- tomorrow I have a roll of ground meat to turn in to meatloaves too- hopfully can find room in freezers for it all- didn't realize how full they were...
Well better go and finish up the sides for dinner tonight , need to get some paperwork done tonit too- always fun....

Maxi made a wonderful pot of coffee for me a little while ago, when I was making us a late sandwich snack from leftover chicken. His coffee is so good, I just have to stay up and finish drinking it! Man dear, can my kid ever make a good pot of coffee!!

It sounds like pretty much everyone had a good day today, and of course all of our thoughts and prayers continue for Bill, Afgrey, and her family.

The rain has stopped for now. It is going to be a peaceful night.

we are dry here today. I enjoyed the two days of little rain that we had and it has helped me out in my watering, but I had to get the hoses going again this evening. I have a recipe for seasoning chicken with yogurt.....I bought the yogurt then the kids ate it up and the reciepe got filed away somewhere.
I don't know about you guys but my cookbooks and reciepes are all stuffed in one cabinet. I normally don't cook with reciepes, but every once in a while or for a special occasion I go in to find something. One day I'll organize that stuff! It's scary in there! ha ha

I am up late. I have to stay awake for a phone call from my teen so I can go pick her up. I'm drooping badly though. And I have to wake fairly early to make a Dr's appointment.

Morning, it has stopped raining...well for a bit, more for tomorrow.

I NEED to cut the grass later, I have errands to run in a bit but can't wait to get my lawn looking decent. Anyone wanna come help weed my veggie garden, it's a mess.

We had a bad thunderstorm last night, it rained so hard that it destroyed a few seedlings on me...guess I'll have to buy some more.

It feels good to see the sun though, thanks to who ever decided to share it haha

cricket--I finally took a few binders, put the recipes in sheet protecters and then in the bindes ----and one has the recipes I use most in it, another 'family' recipes, and then we go from there---works out pretty well---

'morning all!

Tamara - I am so glad you are seeing the light today!!!

Our sun is trying to peek out too, what with all the rain we had yesterday, last night and early this morning. It's supposed to be a topsy turvy day of weather once again today.

Belinda - I feel your heat!!! Our AC has been broken for over 2 weeks now, and we had to go through that awful heat wave of over 100 degree temps. 2 weeks ago - it was maddening. Speaking of all that... the electrician came this morning - even early at 7:40 - was due at 8, and he said he only came to look, because they didn't have any time to fix it for us today!!! HUH???? Don had made the appt. thinking it would be DONE today!

Soooo - the guy told Don how to do it - remember... Don and my Dad were working on it last weekend... and Don says it's pretty simple so he will go to the store when he's finished with a work call, to get the parts. And very fortunately the guy did not charge us for coming out! PHEW!

What's everyone doing today? I have lots of bills to pay, laundry, and I'd like to move some plants into the new pond garden that Don finally finished digging out for me yesterday.

Morning,
Well got boys early today, Joe is off to work too- he had next two days off so that will bet get yard work done days... it's kind of cloudy so not heating up yet- they said it will be 88* and a chance of rain.... we will see...
I have to take the boys with me to the store in a few minutes- forgot to pick up Mom's meds yesterday- don't know why it just didn't click the pharmacy was closing early yesterday--- now I am out of one of them for lunch time so have to go as soon as they open- do not like taking all 3 with me but can't leave them ... Joseph is at basketball camp till Wednesday-
I just got laundry started too- on a roll today - things are getting done... when we get back I have to pkg up the chicken I cooked yesterday and try and find places in the freezer for them... may keep some out for boys lunch- they like chicken with handles , thats what they call chicken legs... if it doesn't get to hot I may bake some banana bread too- I swear the bananas multiply in the freezer... seems like I just used all I had and now there is at least 8 or 9 in there again...
Well off to the store adventure- see if I can get out without them wanting half the place or wanting to stay with Mom....
