How funny,, !! I bet the swat team coordinater felt stupid after that ,, blush haha haha
When Jimmy gave me a small start of it 2 years ago he warned me to be careful where I planted it because of the leaves on it,, notme he didn't want any attention being drawn to it at least until it began blooming,, lol

the leaves sure would look like pot,, unless you knew what you were looking at,, notme

Great red lily - Dodge, and everyone knows I'm not a fan of red flowers!

Diane - I remember that about the Texas red star hibiscus leaves - I tried growing seeds twice from them - got some from both Jimmy and Jiffy a couple of summers ago, but they just would not grow for me.

Here are some of my single blooms today.

Cleome just starting to blossom
[Linked Image]

A white coneflower that survived the critters so far!!! YEA!
[Linked Image]

And a purple coneflower that looks a bit bug bitten but is still nice.

Lynne--I especially love the white coneflower--but I am very fond of the cleome too---I have some cleome seeds already--but I need a place to put them--there are days when I think I should plant them in my veggie garden.--This is one of those days--- lol

Carol - be VERY careful where you plant those cleome seeds as they will invade that area forever!!! Even though I am very careful to get all the seed pods each summer, I always get thousands of baby plants the next year - the seeds are pretty small and plentiful and some always get away! That said, they are easy to weed out once the baby plants are a few inches.

I just love the pink colors on this one!

my coneflowers didn't even come up this year. I think because of no rain. Do you think they'll show up next year if it rains?

This is the first time I have seen most of these lilies bloom. The daylilies have always been okay but the others the deer like to munch on before they bloom. This year I used Liquid Fence and it has worked wonders! It isn't the cheapest thing but it works and it has natural ingredients so it isn't harmful!! So if anyone has deer or rabbit troubles I would recommend trying it!

Those white ones are stunning, but they are all beautiful!

Hey I think Lynne needs that liquid fence. I wonder if she's tried that before? I'm glad it worked for you Jess. I couldn't imagine the frustration of having the deer eat all you blooms.

We get black bears around here. The other night last week my neighbors son saw the biggest black bear he'd ever seen in his life. It was on the street below mine. If I were to see one I'd probably die. lol

I don't have any blue lilies Barb. I will have to look for some!

Yes Lynne should try Liquid Fence. It works! I figured I would give it a shot because it was recommended to me and I'm glad I did. Finally got to see the lilies. lol

I wouldn't do well if I saw a black bear either!

That is really strange about the galliardia Carol! It is still pretty though!

Beautiful pictures of beautiful flowers Tamara!
That purple is so regal looking!

Here is my lacecap hydrangea. It is supposed to flower a nice blue, but with my hard clay soil it is turning pink. I gave it some aluminum sulfate before it flowered and now it is either pink, lavendar, or a none color - not happy with the colors at all this year.

The flowers are still nice, and the bush is growing very well...

I haven't seen the coconut lime either. Come to think of it Diane my Green Envy Zinnias you sent didn't come up. I guess it's too dry. It rained the other day - maybe it's not too late.

Yes Tamara they are also known as moonflower. My SIL gave me some but they are not very big yet. I was hoping to have blooms this year so I would get seeds but it is not looking good. rspb

I had some BIG plants in my bed, and I thought that I had planted some Hollyhocks....my husbands little sister was in the yard and I told her I thought they were, but wasn't sure, and she said they were weeds. I pulled them.............my mom had the same thing growing and she asked me if it was a weed and I said I pulled mine and she kept her, 2 days later she had Hollyhocks bloooming!
