this deer was feeding on the other side of the fence that was put up to keep them on one side and people on the other. it didn't get scared until i took it's picture. it is camera shy!

Where was this taken, and can I borrow that fence???

the fence is an 8ft chain link with angled rows of barbed wire with the angle toward the deer. so they can't get a clean jump into the traffic where they would surely cause accidents and/or get killed. right there is a major turn left for semi's.

the other side is property that i think the airport commission owns. either that or the rail road. it's all wooded and is a sound buffer for the airport and train tracks. i've seen deer there before, but never during the day where i could take a picture.

here you go lynne,

here is the same picture, cropped a little differently so you can see the fence

i wouldn't want a fence like that at my yard between neighbors, but between my yard and the woods, or an industrial park, or something it would be ok.

They started putting up electric fencing on our highways...stops the moose but doesn't stop the deer, they jump right over. So now they have started installing Cow fencing...I should get a pic to show you of the set-up. It's certainly going to save lives.

Do you have much trouble with wild life Jiffy?

We have deer, a lot, coming out of the woods and walking around all over this property where my apartment building is. A little baby was laying in the grass near the door one night!

i personally don't tam, but i'm a defensive driver, and i could care less here on the property. i don't have my gardens in for the most part, and the cats keep the animals away from the ones i have.

i do see lots of deer as road kill tears it makes me sad, that people are going to so fast they can't slow down when they see them. we always try to slow down and see them.

I too think peopel can usuallly avoid the deer if they wqwere say going the sped limit.---but there are exceptions.---My husband was going to meet my dad and some other guys one y ear during deer season---aobut 5 miutes from where they all were, out in the country, while my DH was going down a major route, a deer jumped out from the side of hte road. (it was dark) & went right into my Dh's truck grill.---he then contunued to run off----Rod had no way of following him, it being dark & all--so we have no way of knowing how he faired, but the truck needed a new grill.

\my point??--some things cannot be avoided--- why
