OMG! I'm so thankful they are both OK, but what a frightening thing to happen!! Cindy certainly didn't need any more stress!! How did Lola make out during this? Praying for them all.
My son's computers crashed...(NO I DIDN'T DO IT !!).....but he just got it fixed.
To all of you who told me things about Spokane..... My DIL, Tracy, said she wanted to take me to that river front park, so I will get to see that. Today, I am walking with the grandchildren down the street to a park. A good walk and we can play. It is only about 4 maybe 5 blocks from their housing addition. (I am just waiting for the oldest girl to get up, and they all get their chores done. House rules!)
We will go out to eat one evening to The Melting Pot. I've never been to one before. Just an adults night out!!
Diane, I took a picture of Anika in one of the tiaras and the wand!! She said, "Do I look pretty?" LOL
I have a whole load of laundrey to do today (mine). I'm about to the end of clean clothes.
My son in VA had asked me to call them on Sat. (when I usually do at home) so that EVERYONE can talk to each other. That's going to take a LONG time, passing the phone around among five adults and six children!!! Well, that's what vacations are for, enjoying those people we love, family and friends.
Oh....and you all would never guess what the kids have for pets!!......

CRABS!!!!!
If you make a fist, then ONE is that size. It's shell swirls out to a point. When it's head and legs come out it is like stretching your fingers out from your fist!! The teenage girl holds it in her hand and lets it crawl up her arm!!! There are about 5 of them. Their home is an aquarium with rocks and drift wood and sandy type soil in it.
Cindy, Leslie and Lola couldn't get another SUV in S. Dakota so they opted to keep on truckin' in the one they have (no seatbelts or side airbags) They passed through Sioux City Iowa a while ago and are intent on driving the rest of the way to Kentucky (900 miles) before they stop again. They all have some owies, but are OK....
Oh Bill!!! So sorry to hear that. Don't like the lack of safety issue. Thankful to know that it is still drivable, though, since they can't get another one!!
Diane, she hasn't stopped playing with them!!! She's 'poofing' everyting she can point a wand at!!! LOL She turned me into a Fairy!!
The Melting Pot is where they serve your choices of fondue pots to your table with various foods to dip. Everyone has those long forks to use for dipping. There's cheese dips and a chocolate dessert dip....those are the only two I know about.
Is it not possible to trade vehicles somewhere in between thru Hertz?? That's dangerous no seat belts I would think Hertz would set it up for them to have another suv available at the next location if possible,, that would be or could be a lawsuit for them if something else were to happen,, I would think Hertz would cover their own backs,, and at the same time accomodate their customer, even tho they opted to continue driving with the same suv, because of lack of space in a smaller vehicle,, 900 miles is a lot of windshield time straight driving , I hope they stop for naps here and there. owies,, <--
Thanks for the update Bill!

there is a "melting Pot" close to us here in missouri. I have not been but my girls have been many times.--They love it, but say you have to be sure to take lots of green with you. seriously though it is a very nice place to go.--shirly you should enjoy it.
Bill thank you for the update. I do so wish they had of opted for a different car, or at very least that they would stop at another hertz for a differnt SUV.
And yes, I have talked to a rock----I happen to live with one.

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
I am sorry you were hurt. And sorry the elk/deer was hurt. But I am glad to hear from you in person. I am glad you are resting. I'm am sorry Lola doesn't want to go to bed (it is hard to blame her). I do hope the rest of your journey is uneventful.

About the fires.....we are on the other side of town, thankfully!! We did sit out on the deck for awhile watching the smoke and a water plane.
The entire state has been declared under a "state of emergency" by the governor. Luckily there are no fires on this side of the mountains yet, but if we don't get a couple days of rain soon I'm sure that will change. I'm glad the fires over there are keeping their distance from you!
I'll be sure to take pics for you guys. I have some pics from yesterday that I need to post as soon as I get time. About 45 minutes from us Extreme Home Makeover Home Edition is building a house. It is SO wild watching those people work. They really do build it in 7 days. Seeing the pictures or watching it on tv doesn't do it justice.

Rachel, were you watching and taking pictures, or were you also helping?
We were only watching. They are turning away volunteers. Apparently they filled up pretty quick. What is really cool is the people really don't know before hand that they are getting the house. Jeremy know's the guy whose house it is. He had lunch with him last week and he didn't mention anything about it. I guess they know there is a possibility, but they don't know they got picked until that morning. Too exciting!!

I bet Brennan is happy to be seeing his Cindy Granny (or is that Granny Cindy?). I love Amer.Extreme Home Makeover. That has got to be a top want to watch item on my list. But I don't always get to watch it. I get outvoted. Or forget it.
