I had a garden on the side of the walk that leads up to the deck stairs, behind the driveway. Over the years, some of the plants were just so-so, but I always grew interesting things there. This year I decided that it had to be cut in half lengthwise, to make more walking room in front of the pond, so I wouldn't have to worry about people walking too close and possibly falling in. shock

First thing in order was to take out all plants that were in the way, and dig down to China to get all the weed roots out! rspb

This is what it looked like naked and before Don did his magic with the edging.

Same view with new edging

Same view with new plants - orange mini zinnias and marigolds and a couple of small gazania. Hopefully they will all fill in soon, and make the garden POP! flwr

Another view after Don did the edging - from the deck stairs

And a picture to show Carol the walkway - we picked up two more large slate pieces to add to the left side of the already established walkway that Don built about 10 years ago. I wanted the walk to go straight out towards the pond from the driveway too, so people didn't have to walk around the gardens to get out there. Don has already filled in the dirt area to the left of the garden and seeded it with grass seed - he gets so impatient for these things to be finished sometimes!!! why rolz

WOW< Lynne----that is really looking fine---and it all looks so professional.

When Don retires he could go into landscaping as a "keep me busy" profession.-- you could be his 'aide". why thumbup

Wow, your Don is a keeper....DH will help if I really~really need it but has no interest doing anything with the lawn besides that.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
