Saturday morning I couldn't access the internet. I called Time Warner and was told to disable my virus scan for a few minutes turn off my computer for 1 minute then turn it back on. I disabled my virus scan for 15 minutes and did that. It didn't work. I called back on Sunday and was told that I had "static" and I can't remember what else and they dispatched a cable man who came Monday at 4:00. I didn't turn on the computer Monday morning but when he did at 4:00 the internet popped right up like it was never down. So Monday night everything worked fine. Didn't turn it on Tuesday before work so last night when I went home I again can't access the internet. I called Time Warner, they ran some checks, told me I have a signal problem and a man is coming again today at 4. Do you have any idea what's going on? I turned it on this morning and I still can't access the internet.

Could be a couple of things... A short in the modem, a connection failure with the network operations center, etc. Not really much you can do to correct it yourself should it be one of those issues...Mmyself what I'd do is disable virus scanner, restart the modem, then try to connect; if the modem won't connect then there is an issue with the isp and they'd have to be the ones fixing it.

Thanks for the info. I got a call yesterday saying that a bucket truck had been dispatched to fix the problem. So far it's not fixed though and I'm crazy at home without internet access.
