That is what ii thought to,but she had it in the flower bed there outside.it was small when i dug it up and now it is bigger but i thought it looked like schefferella too Why I ask is I was wonder when winter come's should this come in lol What do you think Angelblossom
In zone 9 You can cover it when it gets too cold,, In warmer regions it will bloom,, Being in MO,, I would keep it inside,, and only take out in the spring thru as late in fall as you dare,,

he Schefflera does best in medium to bright light. When this plant has bright light, the new growth it produces will cause the plant to be full and compact, but if the plant is in low light, the new growth will be long and “leggy”. To overcome this remove the new growth and place the plant in more sunlight, so it will become full and compact.
The amount of water this plant receives is also important. Schefflera should be allowed to dry out to ½ inch deep before it is watered again. Water thoroughly, but do not ever allow plant to sit in water.
Repotting and the type of soil the Schefflera requires are simple. Repot anytime the plant becomes crowded in the pot it is in and use an all-purpose potting soil.
Fertilizing the Schefflera depends on the amount of light it receives. When the Schefflera is in bright light, it will require fertilizing once every two months with a water-soluble or time-released fertilizer. When the Schefflera is place in low light, it will need fertilizer once every three months with the same fertilizer. One more thing to remember concerning fertilizer, is never apply fertilizer to dry soil, this will damage the plant.
Temperature is another important factor to consider when caring for your Schefflera. Daytime temperatures should remain between 65 and 75 degrees and nighttime temperatures should remain above 60 degrees. It is important to keep this plant away from heat vents, radiators, open windows and air conditioner vents. Hot or cold drafts will kill a Schefflera.

I know what you mean Cricket it looks like it but not sure the leaves are alittle bit diffrent to me but it does look like my Schif some but she had this out in the yard flower bed.I know a schif can not live out in the cold like what we get,So I am still stumped on this flower
i know what it is, but my brain isn't working. my grandmother had something that looked like that. not schefflera, but i'll be if i can think of what it was. i'll post when/if it comes to me.
now that you mentioned it, the one in the ground DOES look like a peony.
betty, was it a tuber that you planted? if so, i hope you only planted it about two inches down. peony don't like to be too deep. they like full sun and do best when they get some cold in winter - how cold does it get where you are? they also don't like being disturbed, so it may be a few years before you see flowers.
We can get pretty cold here,Not sure how long she had it, before I took it from her house. Not sure if it was a tuber are not but it gets full sun,and she had it out side in flower bed.SO I have it outside too guiess i will hope it make it thur the winter here but yes it is a peony , I did find out.
