Rabbit chow. Mine like Manna Pro from TSC. I Don't give mine hay much, but Timothy hay is recommended. I feed mine the prunings off my Weeping willow tree, which is ALSO recommended. I have TWO rabbits now. Both Males, both Lop-ears. My original black one, Two Bean Bags, and a silver-grey one, Rainbow, who showed up in my yard earlier this Summer as an apparently abandoned pet. No one has been searching for him or putting out notices. He is absolutely sweet, charming, and friendly, and is about 6 months old.

my son's girlfriend's father found 3 babies, momma had been hit by a car. they are hand raising them. i've told them that now that they are tame, they can't put them back out. he's building a hutch for them. i also told her that she should join here so she can ask you questions. but i was on the phone with here when she asked what kind of hay, and i told her timothy. just wanted to make sure my memory was good.
You really need to mix hay or other roughage WITH The rabbit chow. A 20 pound bag of rabbit chow costs $8.00 and lasts my two rabbits about 2 months. Rabbits are amazingly cheap to feed. lettuce scraps, carrots starting to go bad......APPLES!!!......rabbits LOVE apples.

i'll pass that along! thanks thorny. i do have one more question. how long does rabbit poo have to age to be usable. ok, 2 questions. what do you do th keep the rabbit poo for indoor, litter trained, rabbits? clay litter?
I use shredded newspaper in the cages and change it twice a week. Then dump the used outside to compost. Mine stay in their cages unless supervised. I used to let them roam free but they started chewing the powercords. I wanted PETS not HASSENPFEFFER! If you can find a way to keep ALL powercords out of reach it is perfectly fine to let them roam the house. My dog is crazy aboutour bunnies and loves to cuddle and protect them. The rabbits like him alot, too. Rabbits are completely happy in cages or hutches and don't mind being in there all the time at all.I wad up newspaper into balls and put in their cages. They LOVE that! They push and throw the balls around and then shred them with their teeth and claws.

And rabbit poop doesn't need real aging in the garden. It is good to go almost immediately. Bunnies are welcome to nibble my grass as long as they leave me gifts (not chocolate or eggs).
