Lovely! my passion vines have only put on a very few flowers this season. I guess since it has been so dry?
I know the last one is an af. violet. what is the middle one? very interesting! does it flower?

I'm farther south, in zone 9, and mine die back in the winter, then come back.

lol badday lol
wow! that's a lot of questions! zoink haha
No really, I have them in several spots. they are wild around here, so once I found out how to identify them, I let them come up where they please. this year the two flower beds they come up in were: dapled morning sun, shade mid day, then burning hot till the sun goes down. the other flower bed - shade till mid morning, dapled a couple of hours, 3-4 hours of scorching sun, then dapled till sun goes down.

clear as muddy water, right? thumbup

you only have one starter? If it is a very strong vine and you don't think it's too late in the year....you could put it in the soil and water VERY good. they have very deep roots. if you think it could establish itself before the hard freezes come....(if there is one. ha ha) go ahead and stick it in the ground. And btw, they are not extreamly aggressive. if you do decide to stick in the ground, you might want to throw some hay or grass clippings around it when we do get a freeze. just for this first year, of course.

if it were me, I'd stick it in the ground. vines like to go deep, so keeping it in a pot might stress it more than going through a freeze before it's ready. hard for me to say though. I can grow cuttings from a plant like there no tomorrow and in the past year I've learned to grow from seed. vines, bushes, trees, I've had no luck with propagating in a pot.
my opionion stick it in the ground, but maybe someone else can come along and give you some different advice. I'm NO pro.
