what can I do to make this....less scarry...maybe even pretty? haha

I can grow lots of things, but I guess I'm not too good at design??? bow

A pathway into it. And maybe a destination on the other side?

It is kind of solitary isn't it?

hhhmmm....a pathway to what? we really don't walk in that area. and there are no doors close by? (like I said I'm not good with landscape art.) I could take more pic's?

there is a horse shoe pit in the background of that pic, maybe you can tell?
make a trail of some kind from that leading under the arch?

I see the horseshoe pit now that you mention it. So it doesn't look like a freestanding pet cemetery, you need to guide the eye beyond it to some kind of destination. Your pit may not be enough as it is barely visible. Even a picnic table or something. A garden swing or glider. A bench for sitting right under it would also do.

a gazing ball or a water feature to allow the eyes to see beyond the arbor. as for the path try stepping stones, pea gravel or even river rock. they all have a color to them to soften the mood~on you way to kick but in horseshoes!

If you have no intention of using it to walk through, you could plant a rosebush or something in the middle of it.

I've been needing to move the bird bath. I could put it over there. maybe dirctly underneath or center it in front.

'free standing pet cemetary'! too funny! ha ha. I guess now that I look at it more it does stick out like some kind of monument.

I have a metal structure. It's square so not an arch. I have it between some other shrubs so it looks like it's the place to walk through when wanting to go between the shrubs.
