Yep we will be having one once again. If you are interested then please post in here that you'd like to play. The official rules will be posted soon, but most of you know how it works. But there are certain things you will need to know....dates of when gifts need sent out, etc.

I can't wait. Always brings some excitement to the forum.

1 - all members must be signed up by Sept 28th (date specified)
2 – post your answers to the questionnaire in the next post.
3 - names will go out by pm on or before October 1st
4 - all packages must be mailed out by Nov 1st(date specified) failure to do so will make you ineligible to participate in future gift swaps and could result in other penalties
5 - in the event of disaster striking you before you can mail out your box, notifying me as soon as possible will preserve your ability to play in the future. don't laugh, it could happen. we had 2 in the last swap. please include the reason, even if it is just "i got snowed under and couldn't do it"
6 - gifts should be mailed with a tracking number when possible (even the post office offers that for only about 50 cents more) BUT...
7 - if you order your gift to be "direct shipped" please pm me when the order is placed, with the company name so i can post "so-and-so's gift has been ordered direct ship".
8 - just like last time, that there is no specific amount, but please be mindful of other's budgets, and please make sure that you would be happy if you got what you sent out. if in doubt, $15-$30 VALUE is always a safe bet. and value is much more important than cost.
9 - post that you received your gift as soon as you get it, but at least within 3 days. pictures are great if you can! if you can't either email or phone one of us.
10 - pm your mailing address, email address, and phone number to loz and jiffymouse. your phone number and email will not be shared with your "buddy" but they do help us maintain the integrity of the swap in the event of emergency. it's happened. everything from health issues to lost jobs.
11 - the administration of this board reserves the right to amend the rules as necessary.

Loz puts the names in a hat or bowl or something and pulls them out and pairs them up but doesn't tell us who has our name. We don't know until we get our presents. We post on here some of our likes and dislikes and maybe you'll get that or maybe you'll get something your person remembers you've said way back. I think last year we spent $30.00. A date is posted by which to mail the packages. Geography causes some to get their presents earlier than others. We post pictures. It's a lot of fun.

I'd sign up, but I'm too derned picky to shop for, and I don't want to put anyone through wading through my wishlists... lol

Though, I do love sending stuffed animals through standard post with "caution, live animal" written on them; just to see how they re-package things for delivery lol...

Well, a big bear is buying me a new computer ;)... But I could go with the optional BlueTooth KB/Mouse on eBay lol... but :shrug:

At my house we just go inside and let the outside go by for a while.
I have lots of hobbies.

I find getting clear away from thinking on one thing, by doing another. See on the farm we have traveling room......Hop on the 4 wheelers and discover a woods or something...
Look at trees or animals .

Bought hubby a large flash lite.......He went out in the dark to check the cows, and He spotted an OWL flyin ........Cool

One other time he spotted a bunch of coons close to the house.
One nite a skunk went right past the window where I was on the computer. Dark.
What a smell.

I had a close encounter with 3 bears one day on my bicycle.......Never rode again......Gees I was all alone too.

I better shut up.....Might scare you.

Oh yeh? my satellite receiver just committed suicide... mmm just love that smell of burnt silicon in the evening lol

i think i'm in. the timing is better than in years past and i love the webkinz i got last year :Grin:

i should tell you all, the phone number isn't for us to call you, unless you want a call to give you your name as soon as that's decided. it is more because we have had situations were we had to drop a person and redirect gifts. in that case, a phone call is the best way

we do however, call with names, i called a lot of folks last year!

unfortunately this will be the first swap since I joined I won't be participating, But I'll enjoy watching,, to see what everyone gets!

Wow what a fun idea, sort of like the secret Santa I have done before, only early in the season?
Too bad I just joined and no one knows me, MAybe next year I can join in.
I will enjoy watching what everyone gives and recieves!

Ditchy I joined one when I first signed on here a couple of years ago,, It's a good way to break the ice sort to speak and there is a questionnaire in Banter hall you fill out of your likes and such .. that's a great way to initiate getting to know you,, :wink:
