I finished the second set of pumpkins last week, and was packing them up this morning when I realized that i had not taken a picture so I took them out of the cellophane wrapping and took one. I do like the way the burgundy one came out as well, so I am going to suggest that Amy pick which of the 2 sets she would prefer, before giving one to her roommate. I cannot decide which I prefer. The burgundy one has a different texture too.

This time I used some wood chips from the town's free mulch pile for the stems -
also gives a bit of a different feel to the pumpkins.

[Linked Image]

Here is a closer look at the burgundy one so you can see the texture -
this is Lion Brand Homespun yarn. Same as I am using in the lap blankets.

Thanks once again everyone!!!

So Carol - how about if I call it plum then? I do think it's a bit more purple in the picture than in real life, but that's fine.

Well I finished the second diagonal blanket that is like I made for Amy - this time I used 5 skeins of yarn instead of the 3 I used for hers - it's a lap blanket so not a bed size, but perfect for wrapping up in while at the computer, or while sitting and watching tv, etc. Didn't take any pictures since it's pretty much the same as Amy's up above.

But... Don informed me that there is new baby in his office - a couple I've met a few times and really like, so I needed to whip up something quickly to add to the other "baby boy" items I had made ahead for the next gift. I needed to make a bunch of adjustments to the pattern I found online, and still need to tweak it a bit, but I think it came out pretty cute for my first try - what do you think?

Banana flavored ice cream cone!

It is very cool. That super sweet. A very lucky baby.
Were you able to post corrections wherever you got your pattern from?

Thanks Tina! No, I am not able to post there, but am going to email the woman to see if she made the pattern a bit different since her samples look so much fuller than what was coming out on mine.

I'm now finishing up another very cute pattern and will post it when it's done.
This one had no problems and is sooooooooo adorable!

thanks Carol and Diane! kissie

I wish I had found this pattern before I sent off Amy's package yesterday - it would have gone so well with the pumpkins that I sent! I think this is one of the cutest things that I've found to make so far. Very easy and fast too - it's only 3 inches tall. I'm going to make a bunch of them - some choc. ones too!

Candy Corn!!! grin

Thanks Carol. kissie

Diane - I do still have those bowls and they would look nice in them, but I am making them to send to Amy for now. Might send a few to her friend Nikki too.

Here are the first chcolate Indian corn with the original one from yesterday. I made the one on the left first and it came out smaller than the yellow one, so I crocheted the second chocolate one loser and it is a bit bigger than the yellow - go figure! haha
But then again, real candy corn pieces are not all exactly the same size anyway, right?why

Thanks for the compliments again all! You all are the best cheerleaders!

Diane - thanks so much for posting the lapblanket I sent you - I'm so very glad it matches your decor. And guess what - I finally saw Amy on this past Thursday evening and gave the one I made for her, to her - same yarn. She left me a cell phone message yesterday saying that she loves it, and the colors are PERFECT for her dorm room colors! Yea - 2 for 2 - I am so glad I picked the right yarn for both places and people.

Last Thursday morning I started crocheting a purple bowl for my sister-in-law. She LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVES purple. But the stitches were small and it was taking much too long to be finished in time to go see her that evening for our holiday. So I decided to make it for Amy instead, and trimmed the top with some leftover yarn from the blankets so it would match. I added a Kokopelli charm, since he was a flute player and so is Amy. She is home today visiting a good friend whose grandmother passed away yesterday, and I finished it while she was over there so she hasn't seen it yet. She should be home any minute now...

It's not as bright purple as the picture makes it out to be.
[Linked Image]

It's 2 1/2 inches high, and 6 inches wide.
[Linked Image]

First bowl I've ever crocheted - think I'll have to make more of different yarns!

Lynne, it is perfect--another perfect creation from "lynne'

I think you should get labels made saying "Lynne's perfect creations"

They are perfect, and you are an excellent crafter.
