2 nights? Is there a reason they do that Carol? Is it younger kids one night and older the next? We don't have that here so I am curious.
its been 2 nights since my kids were small. (oldest is 28)
I think it is because one night we have a town "parade & judging" the time for it is during most of the halloweening time., and with having to get up for school there is not any real time for kids to do any real halloweening if we didn't have the 2 nights.
The parade/judging is tonight--so about 8pm or so I may get a very few kids. The bulk of kids will come tomorrow night.

Jess, not a problem---The parade always began too soon for me to get dinner and get the kids to it very often--so we would "Halloween" in town here on the "off night" and go to family members out of town on Halloween night proper.
It made things ever so nice.--so much easier.

that is an interesting tradition carol. most years I complain that halloween falls on a school night. and now this year with it being on a friday night I don't want to take my kids out trick or treating because of drinking and driving teenagers. (around here the houses are too far apart to just walk out the front door and trick or treat and then walk back. we have to load up, and unload and load up.....ect) we are going to 'make an appearance' at a halloween party where the kids will get gift bags, then maybe order some pizza, and carve a pumpkin, watch a movie.

I've got to figure out what to get my grans for tomorrow night. There mom doesnt' want me to buy them a bunch of candy so I don't know what to do, and one of them is a baby.
what ever you do sheri, pls don't do the toothbrush thing. let the kidos have one night out of the year to get sugared up! ha ha. what about getting them gords? even a baby can safely slobber on, chew on a gord. I used to get them for my kids. they would decorate them with markers and yarn. it's safer than carving a pumpkin - can't really give a wee little one a knife and say have fun. ha ha

Kids are having their parties at school today too, boy are they going to be hyper this afternoon - lots of sugar before day is over... good thing I don't have them tomorrow... Well off to finish kitchen- Mom is still sleeping this morning... so trying to keep quiet as long as I can.... Nana

I will hope that you are still tired when you get back from the Drs.
If so you can go back to sleep. And I don't care what hey say, I think a person CAN catch up on sleep. At least ya gotta admit that it would be fun trying.

That's not good Cindy. Do you have good pain drugs?
Well I had 178 goody bags made up, counted them earlier---I had about 10 left......so we had a lot of trick or treaters this year.
The coolest one I think was this kid in a scream mask but it had blood in it that when he pushed something it all waterfall in the front of it, that was pretty neat. I want one of them.
good grief, afgrey! and how did you manage to do that? we never have trick or treaters here. everyone on this road has 5-10 acres and big dogs and were at the end of a dead end road. we went to co-workers/friends party for just a bit. boy, it was 7:30 and the party was well beyond pg13 already! we only stayed about 40 minutes and got our kidos out of there. but, the kids have a ton of candy and we are back home and ordering pizza.

So, for the first time my kids didn't go out trick-or-treating and I had two neighbors come to my door to give them the treat bags that they had ready for them. Very funny. A friend did bring their 3 grandkids and I loaded the poor kids down with pounds and pounds of goodies. That was quite fun. I also gave out about 20 glowstick bracelets to some friends kids at an earlier party.

me and hubby said the same thing! if we were still w/o kids (or had a sitter) we would have stayed till they kicked us out....!
OK....I hope I didn't just wake up everyone in this house laughing at how you injured yourself! I'm sorry, but I got a real visual. besides the fact that I broke my foot playing with my dogs. hope you get some rest tonight!

A few years ago my dog, Porter, hit me while he was running at warp speed. My entire leg turned black and blue and I wore a soft boot on my foot for 7 weeks. But I've never fallen into the pond.
