The sun is just creeping up over the mountains here. Wind is roaring out there. But the wildfires that took out houses is far from me. We will be watching for any springing up nearby though. And I am so feeling for the people who lost their homes.

I will be away for the better part of the morning so I figured I would let people know that I am safe for now. We have a beautiful sunrise going because of the smoke and the blowing dust. (Looking for those silver linings.)

Johnny ruined our gas logs because Ging and I were screaming a couple of years ago because we saw a mouse in the fireplace. He came in with a torch and torched it and the logs (gas logs - dummy) went up in flames. Very exciting.
I love that movie But if you see one mouse, there is most the time a family you don't see. they are chewing up your wiring and making nests for more families in your sock drawer. And leaving little hanta virus filled pellets in their wake.

I have a big problem...maybe I should start a new topic for it. I have a little mouse that gets on the stove in the middle of the night. I watch it at night when I can't sleep, which is like ALL NIGHT. Anyway, I made friends with it now, and it knows I will feed it. It's not afraid of me at all.
What am I going to do???
Cindy--yea get yourself a humane mouse trap, trap it and put it outside.
and remember---where there is one there is more--and or the chance of MANY more--they have large litters-

Loz, I think you should decorate. I've put up lights when it was so cold I couldn't breath and that's no fun. A lot of people around here decorate right before Thanksgiving. I always thought it was so their family could see the decorations if they're not coming back for Christmas. Maybe it was just because it was warm.
One year I put up my tree in October. We were sick of it by Christmas.
Around here the weather dictates when christmas decorations go up. Also the real reason so many of us puts up our trees up on thanksgiving weekend is that it is a long weekend and we have more time, and many are off of work for 4 days.
Not to mention life gets so hectic in December, TG weekend is one of the last calmer times before the Holiday's begin. The family getting to see everything, is an added bonus.
Tis my opinons anyway....
and all of this makes me realize I need to remind my DH that he needs to schedule putting out out decorations.--- Rod needs to "plan" doing things.....

I have to go to Wal-Mart today after my headshrinkier appointment (that already sounds like a bad combination ) I will get a little "no kill" mouse trap and catch it. After I tie a little red ribbon with a bow around it's neck I will turn it loose at my neighbor's house... ...THAT will freak her OUT!
I am sorry for Rachel's pain---is this normal ?? has she spoken to the DR???--or more aptly his nurse??? My drs nurse has been so very helpful, I highly recommend calling the drs nurse...
good idea about the trap---BUT you might want to reconsider the red ribbon thing...with all you have going you do not want to get bitten, and you do not want the poor thing to get hung on the ribbon up someplace and choke to death, do ya??

Thanks Carol.... Out weather has changed- snow stopped and I see blue sky now - that helps my mood for sure- still cold though - winter has arrived! I have a lot of house cleaning to do here .... but would come help you if I could...thats the only trouble with online friendships- to far away to really help someone out...where is the transporter like the Jetson's had... that would sure help us out wouldn't it..? Hubby just went to pick up Derek from kindergarten- he is buying us lunch too for a treat... we hardly ever do fast food... I just finished up folding and putting away laundry... just got hubby all new skivvies- so told him to get rid of the old stretched out ones... well he put them in another drawer.... now why do men hate to throw out old clothes? LOL! I took them and threw them out .... he will never know the difference. I am trying to figure out how to reconfigure my house to give myself a better office space- right now some is upstairs in old office - some is in family room and stuff is getting misplaced and lost- want it all in one space but need to keep a bed in old office for kids to spend the night too... I need a new room or to make the basement warmer so they could play down there more in winter, wish I could afford to finish it but that won't happen any time soon... Well better get busy and get something done while I don't have all the boys here yet. Nana

Cindy, you'll need a head doctor if you go to WalMart. Too crowded.
We are fogged in. It is dark inside the apt, so we're using lights.
Maxi is here for the weekend and we cooked a wonderful breakfast... bacon, eggs, crumpets and coffee. Maxi had chocolate coffee (International brand) and I had regular pressed coffee.
We are having a nice time. Last night we watched The Wizard of Oz and then Shrek.

Good morning Enrique. I did not believe in homework much back when I was in school and I really still don't as an adult and as a parent. Too many hours spent on homework interfere with a kids chances to get the physical exercise they need and the time they need to socialize and grow up. I also feel it isn't truly necessary to a complete education. That being said, I do believe in some. It helps children learn to work independently and to learn and hone research skills. So a report on some subject every month or so is alright with me. Plus lots of reading assignments. Then individual kids needing special help in certain subjects might need some extra time on those things like math. Tutoring is great for that and peer tutoring is the best. But the school system doesn't agree with me. So I applaud your nose to the grindstone attitude. Education is a key to getting a well paid job in your future.

hello everyone. I don't believe in homework either. the kids spend all day in school. when they get home they just want/need to get a bite to eat and relax or go outside and run off some steam. It's very cool here today and is supposed to get down right cold the next few nights.
