I'll be stir frying tonight as well, tina. I grew some bean sprouts. WAY too many! Ha ha. first time for me to grow some and I guess I started off a bit to zealous. anyway, they are good and ready, so i'm gonna stir fry some of them up along with some spaghetti and garlic bread. yummy!
merme it sounds miserably cold and wet where you are.

It is fun to do bean sprouts. I used to live near a health food store and bought several types all the time. I liked fooling with those jars & screens.

Sorry you had pc troubles today, Tina. I hate when that happens.


Yup, it is cold and wet here. but our place is snug.

I like the Christmas tree all lit up also.

Christmas trees make you feel warm even when you have your a/c on because it's 90+ outside. Not the case here today though. It was only 80 something. I was in a t-shirt.
I had no sprouts for my stir-fry but the mandarin orange chicken went over well as well as some fried shrimp. It isn't even a quarter to 5 and our dinner is finished. I have banana pecan cake for afters. Even Jonni liked that and she is not a banana person. That may have something to do with the rum/eggnog I made it with.

My computer would let me read all over but not post anywhere. It was so close to time for me to leave that I just shut it down instead of rebooting. That was all it needed. My system is telling me I am virus free and I clear my cache every time I turn it on so it is going good.

ok, so tomorrow since I'm off I'm thinking of having a 'cricket' day. I do have to get a tire, but I'm thinking if I can stand the cold I'll go get it early early. then I could run to town and get some more yarn to finish the blanket I'm crochetting and some different yarn for my cousins new baby. I wanna make him/her a blanket. Then I could get my eye brows waxed and grab some mexican food in town. any other ideas? I have the whole day to myself!

I pulled the plug on the tree when I left for dialysis then realized I couldn't get to the outlet to put it back in! So, I asked my driver to plug it in for me because I didn't really want to sit here until next weekend when Maxi comes back with a dark tree! She was happy to do it for me.

I just had some mini turkey sandwiches w/ mayo & cranberry sauce! Oh man oh man, I think I like them better than the feast itself!!


And I finally brewed a pot of coffee after putting it off all day. It is YUMMY!

I can't wait until I get my new attendants in about two weeks... girls who will actually help me DO things around here. This place is an absolute disaster area and my puny efforts every day aren't helping much. Everything needs a good scrub down.

It's a bad system that sends people home in a fragile ocndition after a long hospitalization and makes them wait 5 to 6 weeks or longer to get help reinstated.

The girls who come with the nurses I have now are allowed to do very, very little. After they help me with my care, they have about 5 or 10 minutes at the most to do something else. Fold some clothes, make the bed, take the trash out, but not all three. They don't help with dishes or sweep/mop or clean the bathroom.

I understand that too. Personal care is much different than general help. I just wish they could get you the latter faster.

Maxi does what he can when he is here, but he is a kid and there are limits.

I've also got to speak to the office about my afternoon driver. Dispatch keeps making me wait for more than a hour for pickup! Each dialysis day they have 2 patients who finish about the same time. They send one truck. That truck has to take the man all the way to Kennebunk (an hour round trip) then come to get me! They need to put two trucks on. This isn't rocket science but dispatch acts all stunned and surprised when their plan doesn't work. Part of the problem is that dispatch is in another state and they aren't familiar with our area.

H'lo all,
I would have been on sooner but was nursing my poor sore head- I pulled a Cindy- was up on my step stool setting up the shelf for my village set up, caught my foot on the stool's rubber pad .. you know to keep you from slipping and fell off the stool backwards.. hit my head on a plastic basket I keep my magazines in and twisted my side somehow.. missed my eye hit the bone beside it- will have a bruise I think - now it is just red... side hurts too - did finish getting my village up and the lights but that's all that got done-... will finish up tomorrow with the rest of the living room... will try not to fall off again.
Joe just made up a pizza so am going to eat and shut down-- got to bed early- head hurts and I am just sore....

I am up and not as sore as I thought I would be- did cover myself in arnica last night to help not hurt today- haven't looked at my face yet- didn't want to turn on lights and wake up hubby before he had to get up,,, but if I have a black an blue eye it wouldn't suprise me...
I tell you our weather is so wierd... we have snow on the ground still- in the grass anyway- couple inches left- today went out for the paper and it is warm out there- this was at 6 this morning-... supposed to be 65 today,then be in the 30's tomorrow and snow again... flu and cold weather for sure...
I still have to put the rest of my living room stuff up today- may try and get Carrie to stay this morning when she brings the boys for breakfast while she takes Joseph to school - let her do the stool climbing...
Tina I fear falling more as I get older too... do tend to take less chances doing things that I used to- being so short I am used to having to use a stool or ladder to reach stuff..but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Well off to empty the dishwasher and get my shower before the boys arrive for breakfast.

OK, I'm up, I think. I'll know for sure after my first cup.

Second cup and my son is breakfasted and dressed. His lunch is packed and I am feeling much more human. I have some tools to pack into my van before I take him to school and head to work. I will be home in about 3 hours. I love my little jobs.

I've had too many cups of coffee to count. I'm finally dressed and am about to head to town to poke around and get a few errands done. we had ice this morning but it is all melted away now.

I took the time this morning to make a pot of coffee and am glad I did. It is very good!

I've been all grouchy because I ran out of smokes yesterday and no one could go to the store for me til later today!

What makes me grouchy beyond just being out of something I want is that the store is very close to my house and I used to just dash on over to pick up things. Now that store might as well be on the other side of my state! I can't get there no matter what!

Last week I was without margarine for a couple of days. This week I've gone without smokes.

It just underscores how trapped I can feel in this apt.

Yay! I made it home. I even stopped at home dept. I have a couple of other errands to run before I scoop my boy out of school. But I am going to plunk myself down and grab a bite before taking off for other destinations.

I need to shop at a hardware place to get Maxi things for his toolbox for Christmas. He got his first toolbox last year and we are still collecting items for it.

I had two appointments today and my friend went to the store for me. Now I hope to get this dishwasher loaded because I just didn't get to it entirely last night.

It is awfully overcast again today and it looks like we will get rain or snow. But things are still falling from the sky because my upstairs neighbor keeps dumping buckets of water out on her deck which drenches my porch right in front of my doors. I hate when she does that! She COULD just carry it to the far end, but no.

I am in an on'ry mood and really wanna play but there is no one here to fool around with!

You guys are smart. I need a skeleton model for free or very cheap for one of my schools. This school is so poor that I've already spent a ton of money on stuff for the teachers to use and some of the teachers have done the same. Johnny will kill me if I spend another dime. The 3rd grade class needs a skeleton for science. Any ideas?

Do they need an accurate to scale one? Halloween is just over and they had bunches on sale after but not very scale or accurate sometimes.
Well, We used to be able to check out things from the local medical teaching university and Loma Linda Hospital (A teaching hosp). You could call and see if one near you might have a 'library' of such things.
Other than that, Sheri, I just don't know.
